I was reading about using mini shells (there's also a Canadian company that makes them, did you know?) in pump action shotguns, and they say that often, they don't feed right. There's an aftermarket part that you can add to most of them that will fix that, though.

They are renowned Deer, Elk , Wild Hog etc scent hounds ,l always pay attention to mine when it is testing the wind on mountain ridges etc while hunting deer in thick brush & sit down and glass the area ,we just scored our 35th Deer/Elk together a few weeks ago.I still run my Lab as my main duck etc dog . Mine has been outstanding on pheasant & grouse & is getting better on Quail ,but the cold knocks them around when hunting for a extended time .

I do a bit of guiding & one of the best turkey dogs l have ever seen was a Boykin ,l have hunted a lot of ducks over them in South Carolina, where they were real popular a few years ago. Great dogs & very good on Quail as well.
Hey man I had a Vizsla before as a family dog, got him when he was around two, someone found him on the highway. He already had a healed broken toe and a big scratch across his snout, and you could never touch his food... I think he was part of a hunting pack of dogs and had to fight for his food etc. He had a long tail too.
Anyway great dog! We're getting an Australian Shepherd puppy in a few months, and I'd love to train him to not always have a leash this time around... But I live in the city and for example my Vizsla, if he saw a squirrel or a skunk, there was no stopping him. He was off like a bolt to get them. I'd worry about him getting hit by a car, because he wouldn't pay attention to any of that if he was going for something.
lol one time I slowed down because I saw a deer and wanted to point it out to my wife, and Nacho in the back seat apparently saw it too, because he jumped out the window and ran after it lol

What l do as far as training all my dogs for it really comes around from simple extension /reinforcement of the basic sit & stay commands ,after you have taught them the sit & stay & it becomes second nature to them, l simply start with even just a ball playing fetch where you get them to stay even though they are hyped up about chasing the ball etc & build on it from there.
We have a ranch so these simple commands are amongst the most important our dogs learn from puppy stage as they are constantly around a wide range of animals including those who will stomp their ass if they go/approach what they should not.

A lot of haters for our cartridge. And the they all compare 6.5 or oddly enough .300 black to the terrible 6.8 rem spc. I won’t even buy rem spc for range fodder, unless it’s really cheap and I want the brass. Now that grendel isn’t .19 per round it’s only real advantage is that it is more readily purchased off the shelf.
The great thing about the 6.5 Grendel is it's long-range performance & for a round that fits the AR15 platform. The simple explaination is that compared to a 5.56 round, it's about 2x the mass and a similar velocity. As a result, it flies relatively flat and maintains velocity and energy over quite a long distance, dropping less, and causing more damage on impact.
I built and AR15 6.5 Grendel 20-inch that's effectively hybrid sniper that doesn't suck for CQC. Lightweight, 25 rounds, great range, and plenty of power. For context, it's about 8.5lbs fully loaded (scope, red-dot, flashlight, front-grip, full mag) compared to a 308 typically being around 12 to 16lbs.
Google and DuckDuckGo both say 6.5mm converts to 0.2559055 But ... I just measured the bullet itself, and got 0.264 / 6.72mm. You win some internet points for the day, and I learned something.
Heh... I reload and have a few 6.5mm so I knew that off the top of my head. But the Wikipedia article you mentioned also says that. If you really want a head scratcher, convert 0.308" to metric. It's not 7.62mm ;)
6.5mm may be the bore diameter if measured from the rifling lands. The bullet is a little bigger because it needs to be compressed by the lands for the rifling to have any effect on the bullet.
Just weighed my latest .308 build with a 20rd mag and it comes in at 14.2. I thought it was a beast but due to he heavy 20’ barrel I saw no way to lighten it. Nice to know it's within specs, but yeah, sucker's heavy.

It was a fun build, and I'm a huge fan of 6.5 Grendel. It's good up to 1000 yards, although I haven't quite shot that far yet.

6.5 Grendel is another one. Shoots 120g at about 2700 FPS. Also fits in an AR15.

The great thing about the 6.5 Grendel is it's long-range performance & for a round that fits the AR15 platform. The simple explaination is that compared to a 5.56 round, it's about 2x the mass and a similar velocity. As a result, it flies relatively flat and maintains velocity and energy over quite a long distance, dropping less, and causing more damage on impact.
I built and AR15 6.5 Grendel 20-inch that's effectively hybrid sniper that doesn't suck for CQC. Lightweight, 25 rounds, great range, and plenty of power. For context, it's about 8.5lbs fully loaded (scope, red-dot, flashlight, front-grip, full mag) compared to a 308 typically being around 12 to 16lbs.

Heh... I reload and have a few 6.5mm so I knew that off the top of my head. But the Wikipedia article you mentioned also says that. If you really want a head scratcher, convert 0.308" to metric. It's not 7.62mm ;)
6.5mm may be the bore diameter if measured from the rifling lands. The bullet is a little bigger because it needs to be compressed by the lands for the rifling to have any effect on the bullet.
You might be right about that as well, the inside of my barrel measures (it's a little more difficult to measure) anywhere between 6.71 to 6.45
Just weighed my latest .308 build with a 20rd mag and it comes in at 14.2. I thought it was a beast but due to he heavy 20’ barrel I saw no way to lighten it. Nice to know it's within specs, but yeah, sucker's heavy.

It was a fun build, and I'm a huge fan of 6.5 Grendel. It's good up to 1000 yards, although I haven't quite shot that far yet.
I spend nearly $2000 on the rifle (not including optics & accessories), trying to get the lightest parts I could without sacrificing quality. Every ounce adds up. I also unfortunately built it after the riots started, so sourcing the parts was also a giant pain.
From what I can tell, lightweight builds are usually best done from the ground up. By the time you replace all of the standard heavy parts, you basically have all the parts to build a full rifle.
I'm tempted to also do a 6.5 Grendel pistol, or perhaps a ~14.5 inch barrel with a muzzle device to get it just over the 16-inch mark. That said, I also want to build a bunch of AR-15s of other calibers. 300BLK, 7.62x39, 50 beowulf...
It was a coin-toss between 6.5 G and 6.8 SPC. Either is a good choice.
