Don't feel dumb. Some of the smartest people are the WORST teachers/explainers, this guy included. Most of the time it's not their fault, their brain operates at such a level they simply can't break concepts down further, they don't know how.
This guy would really benefit from an interview style explanation, where someone is asking questions like, "what does the fucking wheel mean?" and "Why do you have to get from the side to the other, what is the actual meaning of that?"
He doesn't tie it back to reality so I wasn't able to follow either.
