The pastor of that church was one of the LGBTQ people who claimed white people needed to be dethroned... I dont think they are attacking Christianity..

I could agree. I think I would have to change churches after that one. Im not a super religious person, however, im incredibly spiritual. That just sounds immoral.

Im not happy it is gone at all, the pastor has no ownership of the house of worship, it would have been better of that pastor was thrown out instead.

Wouldn't be surprised if the muzzies want to build a mosque on the site.

Fortunately it's just a building, not a house of worship. And anybody who's going isn't going for Christ.

Californian christianity I believe it is called. It's a weird, judeo-Christian agnosticism lol.

What I do like about it is that it sets aside the historicity debates and focuses on the values and teachings of Christ. If people can’t believe in Christ as a man-god or the father in heaven, the next best thing is for them to follow those teachings anyways. They may not be saved but it will make life better for everyone and maybe act as a “gateway belief” into the real deal once they see the fruits of those lessons for themselves.

Very true.

You can’t separate who Jesus is from what he said.

To deny Jesus’s divinity is to deny his teachings.

That’s just not true. You can doubt that Jesus ever really existed or that God exists, but believe the lessons for living that “fictional” Jesus taught. They are very good rules for life, whether or not you are a Christian. Obviously there are some of Jesus’s words you would have to discard: those relating to Jesus being son of god and all that. That type of belief doesn’t make you a Christian, but it will make you a better person.

If you don’t believe that...

  1. Jesus really lived, then died on the cross for our sins, to be resurrected and ascend to heaven

  2. Jesus was God in the form of a man

...you aren’t Christian, full stop. Those are the basics of being a Christian. AFAIK, every sect and offshoot has those two things as core tenets.

Similarly, many people believe there is a lot of wisdom and truth to what Gandalf had to say, but nobody thinks Gandalf was real. You have to discard any bits where he talks about wizards and valar, but you can believe that fictional Gandalf had some really good nuggets for living an honorable life.

Gods plan is to kick her ass out of his church. Speaking of, how is it legal to use the guise of religion to form hate groups?
