Im no longer a tech enthusiast, I dont have an alexa device or smart home bullshit. If I could get a regular phone and disable its gps, Id rather go that route.

After being in IT and seeing where tech is headed, both good and bad, the more I distrust the devices in my life and would rather have none of it. If you want to know what Im doing, you're gonna have to figure that out on your own and the hard way.

Unfortunately, the sheep keep pushing for more tech in the home, car, motorcycle, personal equipment, etc for the added "convenience" in exchange for less privacy and personal liberty. Ben Franklin said it best: "Those who exchange freedom for security deserve neither."

Very true, Im planning on ditching Windows for Linux as Im pretty proficient with it and 95% of what I need a computer for can be done in Linux. Only reason I havent ditched Windows is because of games, but thats getting better in Linux.

The internet is unfortunately the only thing you cant get around, and while an open source OS and browser can help, VPNs arent always as secure as people think. NordVPN had a breach not that long ago, and while it was one server and the breach wasnt as bad as it could have been, it shows they can be vulnerable. Its almost impossible anymore to go "off grid" when it comes to the internet as damn near everything is tied to it.

I keep tech at an arms distance from my life (sometimes more than that). Going camping where there is no signal does wonders for morale :).
