Is it just me or is your kid at an indoor range with insufficient hearing protection?

I wouldn’t set foot in an indoor firing range with just ear plugs, personally. No offense.

LOL THATS THE FIRST THING I THOUGHT!

5 Hours at the range even with really good hearing protection messed me up for a good 3 hours with everything sounding like a robot lmfao.

booblitchutz 6 points ago +6 / -0

I fucking hate indoor ranges. 30 mins tops is all I can stand.

7
Paul_Revere 7 points ago +7 / -0

Even an outdoor range can mess up your ears, if it has a tin roof over the firing line. Don't ask me how I know.

4
booblitchutz 4 points ago +4 / -0

True but it’s better than indoor. I had the wonderful opportunity a few weeks ago to go shooting completely out in the open and it felt amazing. Simple ear plugs were fine.

2
Paul_Revere 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yes. It's the tin roof over my outdoor range that reflects and even concentrates the sound back at you. Fully in the open, earplugs should be fine.

4
Spaceforcejuan 4 points ago +4 / -0

yeah me too but thats all my options are right now unfortunately. Its cold up here. Thank god they got a 100yd underground rifle range.

booblitchutz 4 points ago +4 / -0

Better than nothing I agree, but just barely.

thats where my eyes went to after looking at the guns. Ouch hearing.

10
Paul_Revere 10 points ago +10 / -0

A lot of guys think it's sissified to use ear protection while shooting. It isn't till they're picking out their first hearing aid that they realize they were being dumb.

I lost some of my hearing from having been too close to an explosion. I'd never risk losing what's left by shooting without protection. And indoor ranges are the worst.

YeDragonEnergy 7 points ago +7 / -0

Suppressors need to be more common. Even in Europe with their draconian gun control suppressors are not as regulated compared to the USA. It is a shame when we had control of Congress the Hearing Protection Act failed to pass. I swear RINOs can be worse than Dems... Governors like Ducey and Kemp only fuel my anger towards this backstabbing

4
ColbyP 4 points ago +4 / -0

Because people who've never used one have been tricked into thinking they turn you into a stealthy assassin that can kill people in the next room over without anyone ever knowing, while all they really do is save you from blowing your ears out. They're quieter, sure, but it's still clearly a gunshot. You can only make a small explosion going off so quiet, there are limits.

2
LaPastillaEscarlata 2 points ago +2 / -0

FB independent fact checkers have ruled this as false. Suppressors make that funny laser sound that you hear in movies. Also, Joe Biden successfully rigged the election fair and square just in case you are considering thinking for yourself.

BorisovitchOslav 2 points ago +2 / -0

That'd be funny, if this whole thing wasn't tragic... Crazy world we live in!

3
thebest2020 3 points ago +3 / -0

Only place where its more of a pain is sitting on a deer stand. But if you're lucky you'll shoot one or two rounds so not a big deal.

I agree. Indoor range its a must. At ours they don't let you in without it.

The Sig 716 is on the bench, correct? Did you remove your front sight post or did yours not have that out of box?

Pouches 3 points ago +3 / -0

Unfortunate, sorry for your loss. I was asking because I was about to toss the red dot that mine came with years ago and put an acog on it, maybe just another EOTech. The front sight looked to be pinned and I didn’t want to go undoing anything important. Thank you

It disturbs me that your child has access to guns like that.. and i don’t 😢. I am late to the game but trying to make up for it in a world of expensive guns and nonexistent ammo

Jesus freaking Christ.

8
thebest2020 8 points ago +8 / -0

.22LR is even nearing 0.20 a piece.... Used to be 0.05 on average. Jeez.

3
YeDragonEnergy 3 points ago +3 / -0

9MM prices are just as bad

2
Mavdick96 2 points ago +2 / -0

You know it. Lowest I saw on Ammo Seek was .60/round.

2
YeDragonEnergy 2 points ago +2 / -0

Funny thing is that occasionally 9mm will pop up for .28-.26 on Natchez and BassPro. Good luck actually buying it since everyone’s using bots to snatch it up and resell it

4
Mavdick96 4 points ago +4 / -0

God, that's gay. Yeah I was on Ammo Seek for a couple days refreshing constantly back in May. Finally Midway USA had 1k rounds of 9 for $300 after tax and shipping. Hopped on that shit like Mia Malkova bouncing on a dick.

If what's coming is coming, a flash hider and perhaps a suppressor will reduce his signature, while you move in for hand to hand with twin tomahawks and blood rage.

SIG Guns?! Tears of joy flooding my keyboard... I used to handle them as an operator - they've their quirks, but still the finest you can get. And I've seen things! I LOVE SUNDAY GUNDAY. Thank you so much for sharing. I wish you guys godspeed, together we'll MAGA!

The family that shoots together, survives together. My nephew just turned 13 and I am going to be taking him to the range soon.
