Why even make Jake black. They're not even using the joke that made the original ad funny. So they're essentially trying to cash in on nostalgia with almost no connection to the original idea, brownie points if they black wash something else people enjoy.
From my inside sources, Jake from State Farm was a huge pot head and ended up doing many things to embarrass the brand. They had to fire this specific guy, but they needed to keep "Jake from State Farm" because the character was so popular. Why they hired the other guy, I don't know.
Seriously if they made the guy someone new he would be fine, actually enjoy his commercials, but they decided to bring him in by redoing the original and making him jake for no reason whatsoever
