This type of doomer talk is spread by the other team to discourage us. And it's simply not true. You can't just "wipe" a computer. First off, hard drives retain data even if it's deleted. You have to do a full scrub and fill with random data, and even then you can't touch the S.M.A.R.T data. Or if it's a new-style SSD, there is no reliable way to wipe them yet. Second, if all the computers were networked, it's child's play to access the router logs and see where they connected, how much data was sent, and where. You can reconstruct the data sent and received with a little cooperation from the ISP. If they don't cooperate, you get a subpoena or go to the NSA. Every packet sent into or out of the USA goes through them. If these poll workers are dumb enough to stuff ballots on camera, there is no way they know how to run a DOD level-three cleaning on hard drives.

Is it tied to the OS? Even on a jailbroken android phone files I have deleted permanently can be recovered because for one instance that file was ran as a system operation.
If you have a traditional disk system it’s there and fragments of your mass deletion will be there.
It doesn't even have to touch the hard drive, though. It would be easy to design the machines so that they can be accessed remotely and a new program is loaded into memory. Then all they have to do is reboot it to get rid of it. Evidence all gone without a trace. And if I can think of that, so can they.

Most likely these machines are using SSDs rather than HDDs. Data is physically written to HDDs so there are probably better odds at recovering the data if it hasn't been physically destroyed.
Hillary used bleachbit to wipe her servers, which I'm sure that alone would prevent data from being recovered, but physically destroying the drive ensured nothing could ever be recovered.
I hope I'm wrong, but I think the chances are slim they find anything during a forensic audit. The fact that dominion makes the hardware and software means they have full control over everything.
If the devices are connected to the internet then any evidence will be gone. We'll be able to prove the devices were accessible over the internet which proves the machines weren't secure, but won't give us evidence that votes were manipulated unless network data was captured like the Colonel was saying.
If they aren't connected to the Internet then I can almost guarantee the machines will be clean and the manipulation was done by the USB flash drives. I think this is the most likely scenario since eyes were on the machines and not the USB drives. If they are ever required to hand over those USB drives you know it won't be the ones they used on election night.
If the machines did have code to manipulate votes then it could be possible the ballot images were exported, the drive on the machine was wiped and then a clean version of the software was reinstalled and ballot images were imported.
There's a thousand ways they could have manipulated the vote and they've had 20 some years to figure out the best way to cover their tracks. We have no idea how physically secure these machines have been since the election and we're only getting to look at one piece of the puzzle.
that's true to a degree but it's also bullshit at that same time. think about this, if you have a hard drive with say 1gb of space. say you fill it up. then you delete everything and fill it up with an entirely different amount of stuff, a different batch of 1gb worth of files. are you going to tell me that the original 1gb is still there? because if it were do you know what that'd be? magic. if that first gb is still fully recoverable, that would mean that the hard drive can actually store at LEAST 2 gb. but what if you keep deleting and refilling with new material? how many gb worth of stuff can that 1gb drive actually contain? infinite? wouldn't someone have figured out a way to tap into this infinite storage capacity that all drives supposedly have?

If you watch the military guy who testified in both Michigan and Georgia, i believe he said that even if the machines are wiped, there still is a way to recover data. Also, there’s a good chance they already hacked the machines election night and have all the data. Having a court order to be able to look at the machine gives them valid reason now to have this data and enter it legally into the fight.

there probably wouldn't be any way to catch that. maybe a server kept some log that something happened at some point in time, something was changed, but that wouldn't go anywhere in court. we need the smoking gun, the 'malicious' software itself, and if they could simply update the machines to remove that and replace it with clean software, we don't have that. and they could've easily done that because according to trump's own team those machines were always online.

The algorithm stuff only matters if this was happening on the client side and not the server side. If the machines themselves were doing the flipping, then we got them. If they were being sent to a server, maybe in Frankfurt Germany, then the algorithm would be living on that server. I'm sure they know what they're doing and they can probably detect traffic in and out of the machine, which would also be highly problematic. Grab some popcorn.

Take the video of them bringing coolers and hard cases into these voting centers late at night. They tried to claim it was "camera equipment" or other such things. Now any rational person would ask "Well if it actually was camera equipment, why would you wait until late at night to bring it?"
A lot of "regular people" are expecting individuals to be charged with voter fraud, and that's been the angle used by the Dems and MSM against efforts to combat voter fraud. They claim that, since relatively few people have been charged and convicted of voter fraud, it must not happen all that often. What they don't want "regular people" to find out is that you don't need convictions of fraud in order to point out instances of fraud and then contest an election based on those instances.
So they keep pitching this story of "no widespread evidence" so "regular people" will think that the election was legitimate in an effort to convince people that Trump's second term is illegitimate. It's a slightly different take on the same shit they tried with Russiagate. During Trump's first term, they claimed that he was not the President because he cheated with the help of foreign nations. During Trump's second term, they'll claim that he's not the President because he used the Supreme Court of the United States and/or state legislatures to circumvent the election.

The presence and subsequent deletion of data still leaves an imprint on the storage medium. There are ways to reconstruct data from these imprints but generally takes some costly software
Depending on the mechanism for wiping and the device being wiped, it may be difficult or impossible to fully reconstruct "wiped" data. Flash vs magnetic storage matters too, as does the particular type of drive controller (e.g., in an SSD). Emphasis on "fully reconstruct," though - even freeware tools can usually recover some partial fragments, which hopefully would still prove damning.

Yes there must be source code pulled from somewhere that can be compared to see what they changed, and likely when. If they did it election night since they are internet connected the create date on the files should be the last day of counting. They are only acting like they care if we inspect the machines. I've heard multiple mentions over the last month that December 9th will be a significant date. Never really any context around it either, which I thought was interesting. This could possibly be what it's all about. We will see.

Sure, it isn't that simple and there is a lot more to a digital forensic investigation than just that. But that is something that is definitely going to happen.
One can cover their tracks if they are extremely knowledgeable about the inner-workings of a system and how each action taken will affect the system. But interacting with a system in any meaningful way (and sometimes even in non-meaningful ways) can result in a lot of unforeseen changes to a system which can result in very compelling forensic evidence.
Purple_nitrile, while being very brief, isn't wrong. They will use the file system metadata to construct a timeline which will be heavily scrutinized. Even one file showing anomalous created/modified/access times can reveal quite a bit and/or prove that the system was tampered with.

Smoke test/Regression, but you can always compare the rev numbers. See what it is on the production/golden branch and check what the machines show.
That's pretty simple to cross check. I'd imagine they have a 'clean' rev in a different branch so you'd see something like rev. b1.23.33.

Every update has to be certified by the state so if they did update right before or during the process of counting theyd still have to throw out all the ballots.
Also, they can inspect the saved ballot images and see if they match up to the physical ballots.
Then the whole thing is thrown out, as they can't audit the votes.

Initially there were reports that these machines could be set to not keep log files. The log files can be edited. These machines at one time were connected to the internet, and there have been four weeks to work on and wipe them over this said internet connection. There's no way they're going to find anything. This is highly likely to be a democrat trick, so the team has to come out and say they didn't have anything off these machines. We might as well get ready for that.

The reset of the machines likely doesn't do any kind of intense "wipe" of the data. It just deletes files. When files are deleted they are not overwritten immediately, they just have the entry in an index pointing to the file removed. So an image of the entire storage device would still have the deleted data and you can run some tools to undelete it.
If the machines use hard disks, it's possible to read old data on the disk even if it's been written over. That would require more than 8 hours though.
Recoverability depends on the wiping mechanism. If the traitors are smart, they'll have used one of a variety of wiping algorithms that make multiple passes over the storage device to overwrite it with all zeros, all ones, and/or random bits in such a way that the original data become pretty much unrecoverable.
yes I heard this, but there are different methods of wiping and how permanent each is. I'm not a programmer, so I'm not going to pretend to know exactly how it works. I think there ARE ways to permanently wipe these though. They've had 4 weeks to do it over the internet connection and even in person in the dead of night.

If its flash-based then the wear levelling used makes it extremely difficult to truly "delete" a file, since there'll likely be earlier versions of the file scattered throughout the flash.

It depends on internals - most of the docs and manuals I've seen screenshots and pdfs of have referenced 'underlying Android os.'
If that's true of the machine, and not just tablet apps they were using to manage, then it should be Java code, which could either be compiled to byte-code (pre-compiled "close" to the os) or could be run through a native compiler, since they should all have similar/same os. Native would get a bit lower level.
If os isn't android, java is still "likely," but could be anything (within reason)
If it's a compiled language (probably, given performance wanted for ocr and image processing), the code would still be decompilable. Not as easy to read, but you can still see what's going on.
If it's runtime interpreted (and not obfuscated) it's just code and easy to read. If it's obfuscated, it's easier to follow than decompiler source, but pretty much the same.
If it is secured and signed, it may not be decompilable (easily) but once something is loaded into memory, you can get at it and reverse out what's going on.
In any case, anything that does "something" with input does have some form of code on it. It's all about how you want to get at it and if you define that as "code"

But thes are still dominion machines, there is still that programming error (feature), and we have heard tell that there is info on the internet traffic on the night of the election. If antrim county has these errors, then it opens the door for all other areas to be audited, and on top of that? If switched votes are found in this county, it will still be deducted from biden, and added to trump. anything higher than a 3% gain in this county may well hand the whole state right back to trump. this is a gain regardless, so long as the machines have even a modicum of fishy business going on.
That's really clever thinking, swooping in on the machines in a winning county since they seem to be convinced that all he cares about is winning and maybe they would have focused their coverup efforts on the losing counties.

The software itself is fraudulent by design, they have already the manuals on how to do certain things, let's say you have a manual showing you how to open the windows explorer on windows then you go into the machine and try to do what it says then you'll open the explorer, if you want that windows to do something different then you have to build very different windows and clean and patch all references to the explorer in a very large amount of code and install it in all the machines, if 1 works different that the others it would be suspicious and will only incriminate them more. The traitors in those places could have completely clean the logs and everything you want, but Rudy's team don't really need that, it would be great to have it but they just need to take all the machines they can and if in one of them using it according to the manual and use the function to change votes and it works it's game over.

I think the angle some of the doomers in the comments are missing is the fact that Dominion & the leftists can "wipe" the voting machines all they want, but there are some things you can't wipe completely away. The machines are a good start but there are several levels above the machines in that system where chenanigans could be introduced. I'll bet my left nut, its a commie anyway, that multiple groups were at play and each had their own vector of attack. Only way to know is to check it all from origination of the vote to its final tally resting place.

The stupidly optimistic feeling you get when you know that these machines have been sitting there unsupervised for over a month and that if they wanted to come in and wipe them it would have been incredibly easy to do. But you still hope they find something.
Hopefully they will be able to tell if the machines were tampered with as far as hiding evidence or wiping the system either part of it or the whole thing. The sheer amount of time to get this order left plenty of time for anyone to tamper with them beyond the point, after the election.

My understanding is that even if the programs or data used were wiped there will be remnants of it forever found on the computer's memory. There will be something that comes of this, no doubt.

Given the evidence so far of hostile nation state involvement with this company (Dominion et al) I would not be surprised if there are built in anti forensics. Things like being able to manipulate file headers and change file times to hide “updates” and changes to files or things like overwriting memory to securely remove audit logs. I would also not doubt there are embedded hardware with it’s own WiFi or Bluetooth to overcome airgap controls. Just my hunch but that is what I would be looking for if I were investigating. I know the President will bring in a good team. Let’s hope they find the goods.
