Prohibition of something so easily produced simply does not work; the "cure" is far worse than the disease. Alcohol prohibition did not work, marijuana prohibition does not work. We live in an imperfect world in which we are constantly forced to make compromises like this, and people need to suck it up and deal with that fact.

Also, the pro-pot referendums turn out Dem participation from people who otherwise would not give two-tenths of a fuck.

Removing this as an election issue is a win-win.
