I'm curious what would happen if one of a handful of states not totally reliant on the federal government's teats for survival was to secede. I think we need to consider this among the options we have left. At least possibly preparing for this scenario by moving to these states and consolidating our influence. What would be the feds response if this was to happen?

The problem is that we have no rule of law anymore. Our government is a complete aboration of what the founders intended. Many of our fellow citizens are completely illiterate when it comes to understanding that due to almost all of our institutions being taken over by leftists (Aka communist lite globalists). At some point we have to start over. We still have constitution as a blueprint.
