How to Have A Real and Honest Election.
This has to be fixed immediately and constant pressure applied to put it in place.
We have the technology already to make this work.
We can buy things, pay for it and have it verified almost instantly that we actually are who we claim to be. Even the US Post Office can track where your package is, and tell you when and where it was delivered.
One of the best ways to have honest voting is using something just about everyone has, a pocket computer, that we call a cellphone.
I know there is an MIT study that says this cant work but all the points they make are easily solved.
The key thing is that the voter can check how their vote was recorded and report any discrepancies.
Here is how it could work.
Registration would end one month before election day. That data would be opened up to anyone looking for false addresses, dead people etc, who would be removed.
The number of valid registered voters would be announced just as voting opens. (If we get more votes than this we know there is a problem also if we get an unusually higher voter turnout percentage we need to check it more closely)
The voting could last a week so that there would be time to solve any technological problems. Also a person would have an option to go to their regular polling place and use a computer there.
Cellphones have fingerprint recognition, serial numbers, even a pin number so that a registered voter could be matched with a registered device.
The voter gets a receipt of how their vote was recorded.
If the vote matches a registered voter than it is recorded.
At election central it is given a unique number, printed then passed and recorded by an independent auditing company then passed to and recorded by another separate auditing company then the paper copies are placed in a very secure location monitored 24 hours a day and from that day on the only people allowed in are small audit teams if necessary.
So the votes are recorded and hashed into a simple blockchain database. which is what we work from.
It would be illegal to do any counts at this time but at 9:00 PM EST three individuals would type in their codes and the software to total up all the results would be activated. This would only take a few seconds to complete even with millions of votes.
Then when all the states are finished the same is done to total up the national races such as for the president. This count could be done within seconds on any standard computer.
These are the first unofficial results they then need to be compared and matched perfectly with the first audit company and the second audit company and with the paper copy also brought in if needed.
When everything matches up the official results can be announced.
There is one more importance step to ensure election integrity. When the results are announced everyone who has voted is texted and emailed a copy of the results and how their vote was recorded and have the option to report any discrepancies immediately.
