I think Trump was exposed as a bio attack. No proof, but you have to believe that they tried.
They sent CCP shills to his press conferences, half of DC is on the CCP payroll, the risk is near 0, and the benefit too high for them not to try.
I also suspect the SS did a study of the genetic sequence of what he caught and of everyone who was around him to find a tree of who exposed him and they would know if it was not a strain which was common in DC at the time. If it was produced overseas (to weaponize as potent aerosol that could be hand carried and released) then they would possibly know it was a different strain.
But they would not necessarily release that information to the public since it would either make Trump seem paranoid, or start a shooting war.
