I'm asking this not because I disagree with that idea, but because I just don't know because I usually prefer to stay away from politics. Anywho, I hear a lot around here that the left are communists, but I'm kind of confused and would like clarification.
Historical-wise, in the USSR, Stalin was anti-gay and he outlawed prostitution. Both of those are things the left pushes for.
Now modern-wise, we have the People's Republic of China. The CCP outlaws prostitution, has very strict immigration laws, I've heard that the lgbt community are looked down upon there, and the recreational usage of marijuana is outlawed. All of these are issues that the left pushes forward.
This confuses me because if the endgame goal is to make a communist utopia, then it certainly would be quite different from the USSR and PRC and other communist and formerly communist countries, because if they really wanted to turn the USA into a standard communist country, they'd have to pull a heel-face-turn on a bunch of issues they're pushing, like recreational drug laws, marriage, prostitution laws, etc, things which most communist officials would probably call "capitalist decadence."
I certainly don't like what they are doing or many things that they call "progress" which is one reason I'm pro-Trump, but at least to me, I don't feel like "communist" or "Marxist" might be the totally correct words for them, considering that most communist countries and leaders were against some issues they are pushing for, and I don't know why the CCP would sponsor movements for issues overseas that they are against on their homeland. Now granted, their ideal endgame might include a very different and "woke" communist country, and let's be honest, if you were to go to an openly pro-communist/marxist college club or meeting in the US, you are definitely more likely to see people with blue/pink hair there then you would typically when out and about, but I'm still confused about this discrepancy and would like someone to clear it up for me. TBH, I never watched Tucker that much before his betrayal or any other political shows online or on TV, I usually just play video games, workout, run, listen to music, eat, and sleep when I'm not at work.

communists/socialists always tried to find oppressed classes to infiltrate. marx wanted workers and hence his social message reflected those values. but the working class never really liked communism... they liked capitalism and believed they too could be rich one day.

in russia it was also certain groups. i'm no expert but you could easily find it online. definitely jews are overrepresented strongly like in the leftists movements here and in germany previously. also other minorities and certain economic classes like very poor farmers maybe? not sure about the economic part.

You can see the left is communistic just from this definition. The authoritarian part is brilliantly displayed in the widespread lying and vote theft of the election. Republicans don't try to steal votes as a group because there is respect for limits on a government.
The left is all about progressing to a higher social order. They find reasons to claim moral superiority in how they protect the mud dawber, how they protect gays, how they refuse to protect white males, how they no longer protect all immigrants but only illegal ones, and so on. They thrive on social justice causes.
They aim for income equality. This is redistribution of wealth, a key component of communist rhetoric. The trouble, of course, is that in practice the most powerful people take everything from the masses they came to liberate from the oppression of capitalism. You will find far leftists like DeBlasio, Sanders, and others, want to do away with people paying rent. They want rental properties owned by the state. They are moving toward trying to take away private property from landlords.
Capitalists, especially when combined with trying to adhere to the Constitution, believe in the worth of the individual, while communists see the state in charge of the masses as the model of government. Wherever there is communism, there is suppression of free speech, compulsion to toe the party line, loss of middle class and shrinking of wealthy class, more draconian laws. This is what is evolving in America through the Democrats, not the Republicans.

It doesn’t matter what the issues are as long as they demoralize a nation and make citizens feel resentful of each other. It also interrupts the transmission of healthy culture like morals and religion such that the youth are trained to see the “old ways” with disdain. The communists infiltrate universities and cultural centers to create content that makes the youth question and doubt the pillars of their society, pillars like marriage, faith, rule of law - the very things that their societal strength are built on. As they turn inward and cannibalize those pillars of strength, the society becomes weaker. When the population is in the weakened state they are easily cowed into accepting a big state to “solve” their problems. Once big government is installed they can control the population however they please. The play book is the same in every country. The issues don’t matter, it’s all about creating cultural wedges.
