We've had vote by mail for decades here in Oregon and the signature matching is yet another source of fraud. I know several Republicans who have had their ballots rejected over the years for supposed signature mismatch, and have never even heard of any Democrats that have had theirs rejected.
The problem here is that we have closed primaries, so you have to register with a party in order to vote in them. I switched to Republican from unaffiliated specifically to vote for President Trump in the primary here in 2016. Theoretically you could switch again after the primary and before the general election, but all of that would be on your voter record anyway so the Democrats running our elections would see it when they "validated" your signature.
You can see they don't have a book with millions of voter signature images on their desk.
They would need a computer screen connected to a powerful computer serving up images to many people at the same time. They would also be typing the name or scanning a barcode also to get the image. Or scanning the signature which is a lot slower.
I don't see any of that happening.
I just wish there was a reporter who would say the hell with it I am not supposed to ask this kind of question but I will anyway.
And get them to show the proper procedure and how long it takes and compare it with what actually happened.
‘Ripe for error’: Ballot signature verification is flawed — and a big factor in the election
Here’s how signature verification works in many states: An election employee scans the barcode on the ballot envelope, which pulls up the voter’s file on a computer screen. That may include a single signature from a driver’s license or voter registration card, or several signatures that the state has collected over time.
The election worker compares the signatures and makes a decision in as little as five seconds.
If the worker determines the signatures match, the ballot moves on to be counted. If not, the ballot is set aside for further review.
In some populous areas, like Los Angeles County and Clark County, Nev., a computer program takes the first pass at ballots, scanning for possible handwriting mismatches. If a discrepancy is found, the signature is given a second, and sometimes third, look by humans.
But in smaller counties with fewer resources, and in states where mail-in voting wasn’t widespread until this year, election workers rely on their own eyes
Still waiting to see that first video of an actual poll worker stopping to compare the signature on the envelope with something.
This is the first election with widespread mail voting. Swamped with millions of envelopes. Dont see how poll workers are able to keep up.
Flood the zone.
If they weren't nefarious, they could be incompetent. Or lazy.
That's why Crazy Nancy was pushing for it so hard, and why the President drew a hard, firm line in the sand over it.
Barely an inconvenience when they never intended to check any signatures to begin with

OR here as well. Its AKA cheat by mail. NO surprise that democrats run the place...
I also am in Oregon. And think Knutt won the election.
Maybe people should stop registering R for general elections...

No wonder Oregon is so blue. Years of fraud.
Exactly.
They can't keep up.

Wish I could upvote this more than once.
There's no evidence of election integrity!
Why would there be 'low recognition' settings in the first place? smh
I found a story in the Los Angeles Times about how its done
There are machines with software being used but in many places they rely on doing it by hand.

I will take things that didnt happen for 100 alex!
What time were you at TCF Center?
Thank you this is useful information.
“Checked”
Comprehension friend... they're not talking about in-person voting
This is about the Mail In Ballots not the people voting in person.
They call them cutters, people who open up the envelopes.
I haven't seen any videos of them actually looking at and comparing signatures.
Same goes for Trump supporters' sigs. No checking?
