It would seem to me that doing so would dramatically increase the time it takes to forge each ballot. As we have already seen that they've cut a lot of corners, such as neglecting to vote down ballot, it's unlikely that they would have taken the time to forge signatures. Also the fact that Trump's team has put such a strong emphasis on signature verification, and that there has been such strong resistance to it, says quite a bit about what the people directly involved think verification would reveal.
However, they have had a month now to retroactively damage control this...and we have already seen how massive of a scale this fraud is on.
This is why I couldn't give a fuck about audits anymore. The time for audits was 3 or 4 weeks ago. Now we need to get people to squeal while also finding discrepencies in code/algorithm...given that they haven't preemptively manufactured this hardware/software to limit the detection of such things.
