Right!! I think that the A1 variant was a good improvement using a 20 round magazine and they used them into the early Vietnam. I think the government thought the rifle was too heavy and when they figured that maiming an enemy was more effective than killing him because you took more people out of the fight they went with the 5.56 and they did like Gene Stoner's design.

It really does. That's what happens when the OSS guys started making the rules after they took care of the guy that was about to take them out in Daley Plaza.
