I never served but my dad drove tanks during Vietnam and he shares the same sentiment you do. Says he had the most fun he ever had but would never do it again. Talks about range days with the .50 cal. Pure power.

Find a shooting range that you can shoot a 50 cal browning. It'll be expensive, but it's SO MUCH FUN. Gotta have a good target though.
