Fascism is a form of far-right, authoritarian ultranationalism characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition and strong regimentation of society and of the economy which came to prominence in early 20th-century Europe.
Other than the definitions always include the term "far right" the description sounds just like our left.
Yes, they re-wrote the definition recently.
Literal 1984 shit.
I'm not surprised.
Fascism takes it's name from a bundle of sticks, which are stronger when together than a single stick. It is a form of authoritarian collectivism, indistinguishable from communism in practice. Mussolini, the founder of Fascism, was a Marxist, and wrote several essays on the subject. He thought of Fascism as an improvement of Marxism for the modern era. Back in the early 20th century, leaders like Mussolini and Hitler saw a future of total war, and that Fascism was the correct and most effective form of government.
Don't forget Giovanni Gentile involvement
Involvement? He is considered the “father of fascism”
He called it meritocratic Marxism and even defined it as corporatism
The original meaning of Fascism had nothing to do with authoritarianism. It was about nationalism, strong borders and standing against communism. No dictator, no matter how stupid, would use a word thats scary like that to take power. And those dictators were great at PR
Research the two italians who made the philosophy of fascism.
Here a tid bid both of them were socialist who discover international socialism could never work since people identify with their nation more then their class. Which became clear from the outbreak of WW 1
Purely from an academic point of view there is a big difference between national socialism and every other form of socialism. It doesnt involve centrally planned economy and their currency is backed by labour.
Another difference is motivational. These two were really hoping to fix their countries whereas pretty much every other form of socialism is motivated by wanting to subjugate and control people.
All forms of socialism wants to subjugate the private domain as they feel the public/collective/state/union/corperation/syndicate and so on should control the means of production.
Socialism has a major schism between international and national but from their they have forther breakaways of how to accomplish it and on behalf of who.
Just like Christianity has 100 of different version but they all have a core belief.
It’s all a form of Hegelianism
Who hated individuality and espoused authoritarian collectivism
I can’t say what defines far left or far right. But political ideologies don’t lie on a straight line. It’s more like a horseshoe. The closer you get to either end the more like they become.
Left is the increase power of the public sphere Right is maintaining the power in the private sphere The private sphere always exist (even in the USSR they never successfully destroyed all of the private market) The public sphere historically always collapse as it becomes more and more burdeness and inefficient (i guess that your horseshoe as it archs and returns back to the private domain)
The private market cannot be stopped.
You can strangle it as much as you like but people will continue to buy on the black market or barter.
Tale as old as time, literally.
I always laugh at the lefts "fishhook" theory, with them on one end and everyone else bunched on the other
In the political specteum far left is centralize of power in the public sphere while far right is it being disperse in the private sphere
Since fascism is socialism with the focus being on the nation state instead of the worker (Marxism) the union (lenism) or the race (nazism).
It might be slightly more to the (center) then the other mention above but it most certainly doesn't promote a weaken public sphere.
Makes sense
Originally, the Left/Right thing came from France. Those on the left were pro-revolution, and those on the right were loyal to the king. Since then, the Left/Right thing has become a complete mess. It's best to keep to the original spirit:
Left= revolutionary/progressive Right= conservative/constitutional
Correct and the french revolutionary were the first socialist and wanted the destruction of the 1st (the king) and 2nd estate (the clergy) and collective nearly every aspect of society under the public jurisdiction.
The further right you go, the less government there is. The further left you go, the more government there is. Their definition doesn't make sense.
This^^^
Typical leftists needing a wall of text.
"Tutto nello Stato, niente al di fuori dello Stato, nulla contro lo Stato"
“All within the state, nothing outside the state, nothing against the state.”
-- Benito Mussolini
Fascism is a Leftist Authoritarian System
The only thing you need to know is the battle is about:
Control vs. Liberty.
Pick your side.
"Far-right", but it was created by Mussolini, who was literally a socialist and adopted by Hitler, who was also a socialist. Funny how they mention the method of government as it pertains to SOCIAL control, but never talk about the ECONOMIC methods of control (socialism). And "came to prominence in early 20th-century Europe"? No, it was literally created then. By Mussolini. Because of WWI and the fact that he thought nationalism was a better vehicle to implementing socialism than internationalism (the Communist method of choice).
It's just really hilarious when you explain it to a leftist. All you have to do is ask them what they think Republicans value in terms of government (the correct answer is reduced government power, greater individual freedom). Then ask them what they think Libertarians value (the correct answer is little to no government power and maximum individual freedom. Then ask them what they think anarcho-capitalists value (the correct answer is NO government at all and ONLY individuals with ALL freedom). Then ask them if they think anything is to the right of that. Then ask them how the fascists or Nazis or whatever are "far-right".
There is a difference in political spectrums regarding the original European scale and the scale we are familiar with here in the US. Total propaganda to label fascism as far-right as it pertains to the US.
Hitler was a fascist, and he rode in on the horse of National SOCIALISM.
If any of you lefty lurkers are here learning something...
Suck my B===D-
Youre lying. Your brainwashed bulbs are incapable of learning.
So how does a freedom loving guy who believes in individual responsibility and a minimalist government get labeled a fascist regularly?
Ignorance and propaganda
It's only "Far-right" in that it is to the right of communism.
That is all.
There’s some good info here
Thanks
Fascism always starts from the left. Leftists retards went 1984 and rewrote definitions; just like fascists.
Every single definition I looked up started with “far right” with no explanation of why it would be right.
