Fascism is a form of far-right, authoritarian ultranationalism characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition and strong regimentation of society and of the economy which came to prominence in early 20th-century Europe.

Other than the definitions always include the term "far right" the description sounds just like our left.

In the political specteum far left is centralize of power in the public sphere while far right is it being disperse in the private sphere

Since fascism is socialism with the focus being on the nation state instead of the worker (Marxism) the union (lenism) or the race (nazism).

It might be slightly more to the (center) then the other mention above but it most certainly doesn't promote a weaken public sphere.

Originally, the Left/Right thing came from France. Those on the left were pro-revolution, and those on the right were loyal to the king. Since then, the Left/Right thing has become a complete mess. It's best to keep to the original spirit:

Left= revolutionary/progressive Right= conservative/constitutional

Correct and the french revolutionary were the first socialist and wanted the destruction of the 1st (the king) and 2nd estate (the clergy) and collective nearly every aspect of society under the public jurisdiction.
