Hmmn? Because the domain changed? I use 1Password, it doesn’t tie things to a specific domain unless you tell it to. Browser password managers are... not optimal, but get thinking done in many cases.
I didnt fucking forget my password, I always use the same one, and why doesnt the reset password works anyway? Why doesnt the search function work? It worked before.
Here is my pro-tip, its proven to work for me, and others I have shared it with.
Make your password in a format that is easy to remember, but random, here is how you can do that, and its as secure as any random string of random letters\numbers.
Make your password an email address... hear me out.
What you do is choose two short 3 or 4 letter words that are not related then use the @ symbol, then two more short words, toss a number on the end if required, and a capital on the third word if required.
This way, you get a silly, short, but easy to remember password that is secure, not because of the randomness, but the length. This will end up as a 15 to 20 character password that also has a symbol, and a number and caps if required.
Make a note of it when created and after you type it a few times, you will associate it with what ever account you are using, then toss the notes.
Read up on password cracking, many are stolen through phishing, and if that happens then no password strength matters, but against brute force or "guessing" attacks, this password would be rated "very strong", again, not for the randomness, but the length.
Just an addendum to this: You should never ever use the same password twice. Password complexity means nothing if, as Jabron mentioned, you get phished and use the same password for 6 different sites. Make no mistake, thieves will not hesitate to try a username/password combo across a few hundred popular websites to see what sticks and often do get some hits.
Of course, this means you'll likely end up with a lot of passwords because most people have lots of different account. So taking the time to set up and use a password manager (Keepass, Myki, Dashlane, etc) is a huge help in the long run and well worth it.
Use Veracrypt to make an encrypted container then you can store your passwords in there. Just remember the decryption key for your encrypted container.
Need to be physically present to obtain that which is an enormous hurdle. And you can easily make that exponentially harder by adding characters onto what you write down. Beats any password manager, lets you use incredibly difficult passwords to remember, different on each account. The only reason why I think it's advised against is because it is the most secure option and government workers hate working. Most hacks are not from inside jobs from stuff written down. Brute force electronic hacks are ridiculously easy to accomplish, same with exploits in password managers. The notion that there are more spies breaking into peoples houses than random people cracking terrible passwords is laughable.
fact. working in government, I have seen a lot of user names and passwords written on tape on monitors. Most fed workers Inrun into are drooling morons.
Loads of "hacks" and stolen info come from notebook/sticky note passwords.
We're a free country and you are free to write down passwords and also free to slap mountain lions in the face. But I like all of you so I'm giving out the PSA - both of those open you up to an attack.
I have my CCNA, as well as N+,S+ ( I know, i know they are lower level certs, but I was a 25Q in the Army, we had to get them because we were basically 25Bs by the end of my career...might as well keep them current, right).
Doesnt mean good old fashioned pen and paper isn't superior when kept in a safe place, particularly in a safe as i do. Not like I keep it sitting out in the open with "Important stuff like passwords" written on the front.
It took me literally 10 seconds to look up what the password was for td.win on firefox lockwise, quite impossible to remember since I use randomly generated strong passes for 90% of the things.
I gotta laugh at people that don't use password managers and instead use a single password (which they have written down somewhere in most cases) that will compromise everything if one low security website has a breach
The moment you register an account you are "trusting others to store your password" are you not? the only assurance you have is that it will be encrypted on their servers.
The only possible way to be sure is to live off the grid completely, yeah sure I guess I could just put all the generated password on a .txt file inside a veracrypt container, but I tend not to be THAT much paranoid, just a master password protecting the logins is enough for me, and no, I don't like syncing them with other devices
Even if you had your password auto-saved either in a password manager or browser, you can still see the password if you go into the settings and enter your info. I know mine is stored with my Apple ID and I was able to go in and see the password.
The only people who should have “lost” their accounts are people who didn’t have it saved, but were just kept logged in and forgot the PW.
The Admins implemented Single Sign On (SSO) across all the .win communities, so now you don't have to have separate accounts. It forced them to log everyone out one time.
I got lucky I forgot my password very early on and found out password recovery didn't work and it wasn't saved in my browser. I was able to find out the password somehow and saved it.
Lots of people sign up for accounts without giving an email because they'd rather be anonymous. So if that were the case, obviously you couldn't reset your password. And a password reset option may be a lower priority just because so many aren't giving their emails anyway.
Seriously, Mods - there has to be a way to put the sign in back on the home page for a day or two - and when people authenticate, make them change their password and set a cookie so the authentication is gone.
Thats me 400k gone!
It's dangerous out there. Take this Upvote.
yeah...
Try manually checking your list of passwords if you use chrome, mine was still there despite the autofill not finding it!
That's how i found mine
Autofill came up blank but my Brave browser had it stored safe and sound.
yeah same, thankfully
Y'all got logged out too?

Don't rely on password autosaves. That's how so many people get their info hacked.
I always write mine down in my Notes app then put it in secure folder
I write them on a paper notepad and put it in a safe. "Anything stored digitally can be stolen."Dr. Halsey Halo Series
Always back up secure important data in at least two places. Ideally three minimum.
Don't back up your passwords in a digital place. You could encrypt it, but you should write them down in the physical world.
Google deleted 2 years of video work that I thought was safer in "the cloud" than lugging around spinning external hard drives in a backpack.
I just always make my passwords 1234 that way i never forget
I use a password manager https://keepass.info/

Keypass is the FOSS/OSI certified secure password manager. It had been arround for over a decade. Great little program.
Or if you run on linux, bitwarden is also open source and secure.
Is it Keypass or Keepass?
Great till it gets hacked. FBI gave up trying to decrypt veracrypt's predecessor.
That's why I use my username as my password. Big brain plays.

Mebbe TDW 'accidentally' upgraded to Dominion software?
no, because I can't updoot multiple times and they're still only worth just 1 doot
But are you a democrat?

Right?
Lol, and I’m proud of my 200-400 range!
Took me hours to remember mine.

Facts.
Conspiracists believe that the admins had intel it was coming, but did nothing to prevent it....
maybe this was intentional to stop all the people who turned into karma whores. updoots are secondary to holding the line!
<==== updoot here if you hate karma whores!!! 🔥🔥🔥

I see what you did there.....
There are 30 posts like that every day. Annoying.
Gotta farm those bitcoins somehoe.

Another reason why us old guys will always win...
We keep our passwords in these magical things called "notebooks".
Physical things that we can flip through and read what we need to when needed, even when electricity doesn't work or the internet changes something.
Password managers are nice, but notebooks are forever (Unless you lose em!)...
most hacks are inside jobs from stuff like written down passwords
Yep, do not do this at work or if you rent.
Yeah, they still often figure it out. I have used serial numbers on random objects though.
How about u: and p:?
Not enough high ascii.
I just write things that remind me which password I used, they still have to connect some dots.
Like I have one that is like 30 characters that I just have to write down a couple to know what it is.
landlord gonna get shot if he walks in without notice.

Can confirm. We once had an LT plug a brand new 17 inch MacBook into the SIPRnet.
The post commander made her bring to the next range day and film herself destroying it.
We never had anyone plug their computer into a secret drop ever again!
I've seen people put it on the back of pictures on their desks. Taped to the bottom of the keyboard, too.
All depends who has access
Memory master race
I have to remember the home phone numbers of my childhood friends. I cant just be remembering current things all willy nilly
Impressive if you can do that for your crytpo currency stuff.
bet you always had nice grades in school using that trick
I don't have much of a memory anymore. Gotta have a backup plan for aging....

you're my second favorite person.
This is a fucking gem comment. Diamond in the rough no doubt
Haha, your resume is very similar to mine only you went the networking route after serving and I took up database work.

I’m kind f half and half. I store my passwords but I wrote down the password to the place in which my passwords are stored. XD
Name checks out
I wish. I’d trade remembering my password for half the things you mentioned.
You forgot about the rice and beans. And toilet paper.
I don't care about my 10 thousands of fake internet points...
I lost all my saved informational posts and all the best memes.
:(
This is the real tragedy of the great SSO wave of 2020...
RIP Information!
I think some of our better librarians and meme historians should share their wealth and replenish us after the Great Library of Kekistan burned.
You can retrieve your old account via mods or admin. Expect this to take a while, as I expect there'll be a backlog ...
I bet your password is: CantThinkOfPassWord
bet your password is Nervous
I'm busted.
Cruel, but true. XD
They logged all users out due to some server wizardry.
I never got logged out. Or maybe it is because I was logged in on Omegacanada.
Does this handshake icon make me look fat?
Wait. Now that I posted that I don't see a handshake? Is there one?
Yes Fren
Jokes on yall. I just use the same password for everything.
It’s written on a post-it note stuck to the bottom of your keyboard, right?
It’s on my dashboard, bigot

Exactly! I will never store my pw here on Google's cloud or such. No email attached either. And mods / admin can still retrieve your account
Independent encrypted password manager software with export capability are worthwhile. Like 1Password. Don’t rely on browser managers
firefox password manager can tell you what your password is
there is no password manager that won't let you move creds from one domain to another
total gasslight.
we have the best shill filters folks, there was some collateral damage
I don’t know about all these cucks I see posting this shit, but I don’t need to know a single god damn password to execute a politician for treason.

LMAO!
I for one, did not forget my password. It did take me 30 minutes before I realized I was logged out though.
Use the dark theme. It makes it painfully obvious when you’re logged out. Literally - That bright white background hurts my eyes.
Can someone explain what's going on? I've been out of it for a week and I come back and half the page is people talking about their passwords.
The Admins implemented Single Sign On (SSO) across all the .win communities, so now you don't have to have separate accounts. It forced them to log everyone out one time.
I forgot mine, hell I didn't even know how to spell my username but luckily my password manager stored it.
Brave to the rescue.
Brave is the best
I wanted to upvote, so i had to remember my password. Doge pun smiley face here i did.
I got lucky I forgot my password very early on and found out password recovery didn't work and it wasn't saved in my browser. I was able to find out the password somehow and saved it.
First time?
Lol! i just assumed that i did something wrong and logged back in.
I'm part of that 2nd half..... ;)
Is there no password reset feature?
Did you give your real email address?
A valid email address? Of course. Why wouldn't I?
Lots of people sign up for accounts without giving an email because they'd rather be anonymous. So if that were the case, obviously you couldn't reset your password. And a password reset option may be a lower priority just because so many aren't giving their emails anyway.
Lol kekception never forgets! MAGA since the beginning. MAGA since Reddit. Don’t worry fellow gray handshakes. We will get you back!
LMAO Thats me
I feel attacked.
This has been deboonked people have been given there passwords they just have to stand 30 feet away so you can’t actually see them.
Don't need a pw to clack-a-lacka.
I never forget my password
First Guess! back in the action!
FFS guys go into your privacy and security settings in your browser and just look up your old saved password for thedonald.win this isn't hard people.
The only people bitching about losing their passwords are people making these stale ass, gay memes.
Still feel that way. Didn't forget my password.
Fauk. That’s okay! Same with the #1 lol
LOL - So funny.
