Did you know Alex Winter (Bill from Bill & Ted) is also a huge fan and made this?

Interesting ancestry:

"Zappa was born on December 21, 1940, in Baltimore, Maryland. His mother, Rosemarie (née Collimore), was of Italian (Neapolitan and Sicilian) and French ancestry; his father, whose name was anglicized to Francis Vincent Zappa, was an immigrant from Partinico, Sicily, with Greek and Arab ancestry." He's a character. And curiously a part of the whole "Log Cabin" Scene in LA.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSzmvkja-qQ

Weird Scenes Inside The Canyon: Examine the extremely improbable connections between the Laurel Canyon Music Scene, and Military Intelligence/ CIA. The largest complete film and audio studio in the US, outside of Hollywood was at the top of the Canyon, where Frank Zappa did a lot of recording in the "Log Cabin". Purchased by Jared Leto a few years ago after decommissioning, the Top Secret Facility used to produce US Propaganda, and many of the musical luminaries of the hippie era, who came out of the Log Cabin Scene, had Family in High Level Military, and Intelligence Positions.

isnt Alex winter a leftist commie?

3
sentient-potato 3 points ago +3 / -0

Ugh. I just looked him up on Twitter.

Yes, you're right, I had no idea.

5
Testosteroneape2000 5 points ago +5 / -0

yeah. Everyone in entertainment and acting tends to be shallow sell outs. I gave up watching movies because of this. I feel they have destroyed my love of movies which I had for years before I realized these people have no morality. Actors will do or say absolutely anything if you paid them enough or even better if you promised them awards or a big movie part. They would sell their grandmothers into slavery and find a way to justify that through self serving bias, in a way where they would portray themselves as the victims. They are soft headed narcissists and spoilt brat children of soft headed narcissists, Can’t wait for trump to nuke Hollywood on his second term and go scorched earth on their pedo asses.

1
sentient-potato 1 point ago +1 / -0

Well, that escalated quickly!

And right you are. I know two people who are pushing their kids into acting, with classes and coaching and pictures...it's revolting.

Some of the biggest commies are Social Studies teachers

14
Juantinntwo 14 points ago +14 / -0

I’m behind enemy lines. I have infiltrated their brainwashing campaign and my students are starting to ask the right questions when they hear things from Hollywood, social media, and crazy liberal teachers.

We just discussed W.o.1812 and I got to explain why no politician wanted to be on the loser political party anymore and how America had that big d*ck energy following the war. Multiple students said that they still feel like America is the greatest country in the world and I want to keep showing them why. None of that bullshit about STEALING Native American land.

3
wrxreach6208 3 points ago +3 / -0

I'm also behind enemy lines, but I teach music. I did have a nice conversation today with two students who also don't believe that Biden got 80 million votes. I like to think we're making a difference by making them question things they're being told.

Did you know Alex Winter made a documentary about Zappa?

17
Comanche_Moon 17 points ago +17 / -0

Did anyone watch the PMRC hearings led by Al Gore's wife? Zappa was brilliant. I think he and Rand Paul would have understood each other very well.

https://reprobatepress.com/2020/05/12/the-pmrc-hearings-with-frank-zappa-dee-snider-and-john-denver/

10
priestessnico 10 points ago +10 / -0

Always liked the John Denver part of this story. If I remember right, even Zappa and Snider were surprised by his involvement and didn't know exactly what to expect, but were seriously impressed by his testimony.

4
GodKingHarambe 4 points ago +4 / -0

He was lumped in over accusations of veiled drug intoxication.

I love the urban legend that John Denver was a CIA assassin

  2. Startin' Up A Posse
  3. Hook In Mouth

Maybe more?

F is for fighting, R is for red

Ancestors' blood in battles they've shed

E, we elect them, E, we eject them

In the land of the free, and the home of the brave

D, for your dying, O, your overture

M, they will cover your grave with manure

This spells out freedom, it means nothing to me

As long as there's a PMRC!!

3
ippwndu 3 points ago +3 / -0

Now I'm startin' up a posse (Fascist scum, fascist scum)
And we'll damn sure make you see
Something that offends you
May not be offensive to me
You f*cking whores (You fuckin' whores)
That's all you are

Now you might take offense
To a word like "fuck" or "shit" (Dick!)
But you fuckin' don't have the right (Cunt!)
To discriminate me for saying it!
You fuckin' whores (You fuckin' whores)
That's all you are\

So now I'm startin' up a posse (Motherfucker, motherfucker)
To fight for freedom of choice
To fight for freedom of speech
We're gonna make you hear our voice\

And now I don't do this to shock you (That's the end, that's the end)
I don't do this for spite
You've got the choice, don't buy it, don't read it,
And don't say your opinion's right
You f*cking whores (You fuckin' whores)
That's all you are (Cunty, cunty, cunty, cunt)\

You know you can't censor my feelings
You can't censor my thoughts
Censorship's against
Everything America stands for
You fuckin' whores (Let us decide)
That's all you are (And this ain't sexist, either)

15
P3POd 15 points ago +15 / -0

You will obey me while I lead you. And eat the garbage that I feed you. Until the day that we don’t need you. Don’t go for help, no one will heed you. Your mind is totally controlled. It has been stuffed into my mold. And you will do as you are told. Until the rights to you are sold.

Zappa documentary!

Yes, I'm posting this up and down this thread...it's not often I see a bunch of Zappa fans in one place, and Alex Winter is a hero for making it (and surviving pedowood).

3

“The illusion of freedom will continue as long as it's profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, they will pull back the curtains, they will move the tables and chairs out of the way and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater.”

7
NostalgicFuturist 7 points ago +7 / -0

I saw Zappa and the Mothers of Invention at the Royal Albert Hall in London back in the late 60s,. At one point a security guard or bobby came on the stage, I forget why. Hippies in the audience wearing beads and headbands started booing. One of them shouted, "Take off your fucking uniform, mate!" Zappa responded, "Everyone in this room is wearing a uniform, so shut the fuck up." It quieted the crowd instantly. Zappa simultaneously defended a hapless bobby (gallantly, I'd say) and called out the audience for being as conformist as anyone else and also being hypocrites about it. It was a great moment, tells you a lot about his character.

2
Mrs_Fonebone [S] 2 points ago +3 / -1

I remember hearing that story. He was on a level of cool and smart that nobody else ever reached. I have another relevant quote from him for tomorrow!

7
TheReaper 7 points ago +7 / -0

Because he is a true liberal, and not a progressive. The difference is that liberals actually historically are intellectually honest and have some level of morality. Progressives have neither and the ends justify the means.

4
Mrs_Fonebone [S] 4 points ago +4 / -0

Labels are often meaningless, though. Zappa was very conservative too.

4
JerryJerryJerry 4 points ago +4 / -0

He referred to himself as a "practical conservative." FZ made fun of everyone: hippies, bureaucrats, politicians of all flavors. "[The uniparty] isn't dead; it just smells funny."

7
KGB82 7 points ago +9 / -2

Yeah, so if this is from the 60's it means democrats have another 60 years of infiltration.

17
Mrs_Fonebone [S] 17 points ago +17 / -0

He said this in 1991 and was referring to the 60s' effect on the 70s and subsequent dumbing down of education down. There was less of this with Reagan, but overall yes, it was a slow and steady infiltration.

6
Southern_Belle 6 points ago +6 / -0

Wikileaks.

In those emails, they mention they eliminated civics.

I think it was the DNC emails.

They also said they wanted a compliant and unaware citizenry.

All part of the commie plot.

6
Winter_bow_huntress 6 points ago +6 / -0

I’m only 32 and I took advanced placement government in high school and actually had a based teacher, I guess I got lucky!

5
Mrs_Fonebone [S] 5 points ago +5 / -0

Honestly, I think a lot of this does depend on where you went to school. The downside is that some of the most populous schools, in big cities, are more likely to have lefties. But it's refreshing to hear this!

5
The_banned 5 points ago +5 / -0

Also Zappa: "communism doesn't work because people like to own stuff".

What a guy

5
hloblart 5 points ago +5 / -0

I had a decent "government" class in high school. Was only 4-5 months though. They did make us read the constitution and the federalist papers in full. Kind of failed us at the local level though, which I guess is understandable since it changes if you move 10 miles away.

Pretty good for a guy who named his kids Dweezil and Moon Unit.

4

Frank Zappa was at the top of the Laurel Canyon music scene in the '60s. I don't think he's as squeaky clean as some think.

4

The day is drawing close to when we will need to reshape our nation. One person must take the risk, absorb the media attacks, and rise up and shape our nation the way it was supposed to be.

6
Mrs_Fonebone [S] 6 points ago +6 / -0

He's here. His name is Donald Trump.

2
undecidedmask 2 points ago +2 / -0

We must carry on his legacy after his terms expire. We shall go onward!

4
Magistra 4 points ago +4 / -0

Notgrass has a great curriculum teaching American government, and it embraces the fact that this nation was built on Christian values. Use it to teach your kids, especially if you don’t homeschool them!

2
Mrs_Fonebone [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

He didn't care. He always went his own way and he was so honest and also so talented that people did not, as far as I know, give him any crap about anything. Didn't want to wind up in his next song!

Even better known for his guitar playing. See his album "Shut Up 'n' Play Yer Guitar."

2
JerryJerryJerry 2 points ago +2 / -0

I've listened to "Chalk Pie" from the sequel, Guitar scores of times and it still amazes me. The unofficial album Chalk Pie is great, too.

3
Spicy_Spine 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yay! Zappa quote! Wish he was still alive. He was based af. I always thought "Joe Garage" was a satire of the government and media dumbing everyone down and shutting down free speech.

2
rebelcurse 2 points ago +2 / -0

Also stood up to left when Tipper Gore wanted warning labels on albums.

2
neurojerk 2 points ago +2 / -0

Zappa was a true musical genius. Try getting the rhythm down for The Black Page. It's fucking impossible. He could do anything he wanted musically. Just makes it all the more impressive that he was totally based too. Love that guy.

2
jetjetjet 2 points ago +2 / -0

Now we don't have social studies, we have social justice. What is social justice? You have no free speech, the police don't protect you, you have no due process, and you're punished for something somebody else did while someone else isn't punished if he steals your stuff right in front of you.

Also for some reason you can crap on the sidewalk in San Francisco except on Nancy Pelosi sidewalk. That's social justice too.

2
Moominz0 2 points ago +2 / -0

I always thought social studies was just a scholarly way of saying "history class".

2
Shazxofshadilay 2 points ago +2 / -0

Civics class has been reduced to a footnote, about one week in third grade.

2
HumblePig 2 points ago +2 / -0

All I remember from social studies up until about 7th grade was a lot of units on slavery and Jim Crow and racism against African Americans and Native Americans. Then in 7th grade we finally started covering some old world, European trade ships, but it quickly devolved into flagellating how abused the natives were by these conquistadors.

But seriously, 1st through 7th was just all slavery all the time in history.

1
Mrs_Fonebone [S] 1 point ago +2 / -1

That's astonishing. Easy job for the teachers!

2
Dirk_Diggler 2 points ago +2 / -0

Based Titties and Beer merchant.

2
TheMadManDidItAgain 2 points ago +2 / -0

I'm ok with Civics not being taught in schools right now. Why? Because can you imagine teachers teaching about what's in the Constitution when most of them never read it or understood what is in it? My teacher friend, super leftist liberal, said she was watching Thanksgiving specials with her 8 year old to make sure she can fix her and make sure her child really knows what happens and how bad the white man was and is (.... yes, she's white).

Funny side note, she was laid off from her history teacher job when she was pregnant and hasn't been able to get rehired, and she blames it on her being pregnant... not on her radical, abusive, demoralizing views.

2
onetruecliff 2 points ago +2 / -0

Wait, what? Civics isn't taught anymore? Fucking hell!!

There's no gawd-damn reason to banish it. Just because I hated band, doesn't mean that it doesn't have value. (And I was wrong, just had poor teachers.) This makes me cussing mad....

(Also based Zappa)

2
WhoreableDeplorable 2 points ago +2 / -0

I may have lucked out because I graduated in the early 2000s in public and I had a high school civics (that was actually called civics, yes) class and a teacher that explained what the Constitution actually is. He made sure we knew why we were the greatest country in the world. I’ve thought about him a lot since I woke up to politics a couple years ago, but a large part of me fears looking him up in case he 180’d (doubtful... but you never know) or something happened to him. That would irrationally upset me.

2
Mrs_Fonebone [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

That's amazing. Don't dox yourself but you can give a general idea of where this miracle took place?

2
WhoreableDeplorable 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yup, ‘twas Ohio. I keep details about myself to a bare minimum so I’m not too worried about it, and I’ll blow this account up at some point and start fresh.

I’m curious if civics is still being taught. I absolutely would believe a slow decline into academic Marxism has occurred for decades, but something tells me (purely anecdotally, to be fair) that around Obummer’s start, with the likes of common effing core, was when public schools properly chucked the critical thinking baby out with the bath water. Coincidentally though I also had one of those asshole hippie English teachers who’d dock you if you didn’t see the right themes in literature. Didn’t matter if you presented your own ideas and laid them out meticulously with a nice argument. People can knock literature discussion, but discussing themes can in fact be fun and educational, and you can apply critical thinking even to subjective ideas, but I digress... Point is I wonder how many people had shit teachers even if they had civics classes. I’m lucky my worst teacher was an English teacher, who thank God didn’t turn me off literature. Sorry for the rant lol.

1
Mrs_Fonebone [S] 1 point ago +2 / -1

Definitely not a rant! Our high school had coaches teaching civics, branches of Govt etc because they definitely weren't paying for a position to teach only civics. But yes, Obummer and let's not forget the "no child left behind" of the Bush era--participation ribbons for everyone! And yes, some of the worst of the worst were the "cool" English professors who also wanted to be 'shocking' --I was in VA but yeah, they must have been mass producing the tweed jacket, shaggy hair wire-rimmed glasses mustache/beard, khaki pants wearing rebels without a clue

2
Howabsolutelydareu 2 points ago +2 / -0

Seems like he was smart. His kids, on the other hand...

2
Mrs_Fonebone [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

That often happens. Genius isn't inherited. Look at John Lennon's sons. Gosh,so many examples.

1
Spicy_Spine 1 point ago +1 / -0

I've seen his son Dweezil play several times, totally worth it. One show they played all of One Size Fits All. The musicians in the band are extremely talented and cover all of Frank's catalog note for note. I would appreciate some more jamming, but it's still great to hear that music live.

2
artifex_mundi_x 2 points ago +2 / -0

Good point. The deep state sure learned from their mistakes.

2
not_a_shill 2 points ago +2 / -0

And as such, with that the people forgot that the government worked for them...not that people worked for the government. So the government kept growing bigger, taking more of the peoples resources, making the people smaller.

1

Buy paper copies of history books - classics like Churchill's account of WWII, dictionaries, and bibles. A possible outcome of information warfare is another dark age.

1
MAGA_MEXICAN_CHILI 1 point ago +1 / -0

What if I were to tell you those same people from 1950's to 1960's were the ones who removed Civics once they were able to get in power so they can manipulate the masses easier.

0
Mrs_Fonebone [S] 0 points ago +1 / -1

What if I tell you that you are damning millions of people for what some of them did..and that the 40s (and even before) were the starting point?

1
jackneefus 1 point ago +1 / -0

With all respect to Frank, Social Studies existed before 1960s' student unrest.

1
Mrs_Fonebone [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yes it did but it wasn't what it became later, Social studies was distinct from civics, which was all about govt and organization thereof.
