Sorry, but if my kid cried like that over a discussion he would get something else to really cry about. Regardless, the job of a Mall Santa is to sit there, take the picture, and say yes to whatever a kid wants.
I agree, but I'd imagine it shocked the kid. Never in a million years has santa outright said no to anything. You can always ask and he listened, you just may not get everything you asked for.
