A while back a town ran some concerts but reserved the front for the rich sponsors. A good 100 feet from the stage there was a fence where your typical general admission lawn tickets would be. People got there early AF to see some big names only to find they had to stand in the back. Sponsors had their full open bars while the public had $8 warm beers. Needless to say, not as many people showed up the following year. Not as many people wanted to sponsor it the next year either. It was something great and good fun, but it's organizers only cared about the money.
