Great movie. I’ve seen a few post in here recently about it. There are a lot of based pedes on the coast. It’s just the large cities that are screwed up. Another pede refereed to us as fraud testing grounds. Couldn’t agree more.
Think of that movie every time I drive the I-5 exchange where they filmed. Crazy impactful movie about just having had enough and losing it...lots of us here are about at that point.

I grew up in the Sierra foothills. One of my neighbors was a very old school guy who owned several thousand acres of cattle land. We had a 600 yard rifle range set up on his land, was lots of fun. And nobody checked little things like barrel length or magazine capacity.
One day he found an illegal grow op on his land, who were stealing water from his cattle. This area had a problem with the cartels setting up grows. By the time the sheriff got there the place was suspiciously abandoned, and they just got to stand around and pose with the drugs. Moral of the story: don't fuck with people who own guns, backhoes, and lots of land.

Peninsula and South Bay are probably slightly left l, but only because of big tech/social media. 30 years ago it was totally different as tech was mainly electrical engineers instead of soy boy coders.

I went to a reopen rally in SF and somehow accidentally stumbled into a literal communist rally that was like 100x bigger than the reopen rally. I walked into the middle of it with my massive American flag. Glad I didn’t get curb stomped—but it really shocked me to see so many actual communists.

Have been to California alot and everywhere i go except for LA and San francisco has huge amount of RED supporters.
