Set it to trial. Apparently in America words are violence and just like Britain, you can be sent to jail for it. As it is a misdemeanor they have denied my request for a jury trial. Looks like this pedes getting a show trial by some leftwing activist judge before I am summarily imprisoned. Can't believe I fought for this country. Our rights are being litigated away while current military think they are fighting to protect them. Fuck these commie pieces of shit!! Carry on the fight without me boys! I'll be with you in spirit!!

Yep. My son copped a bullshit charge and his lawyer said just wait it out. They came 3 offers and just dropped it. Some random dude he never met before just made an accusation trying to extort some money.

Sat on a jury once, system is total bullshit. I never want anything to do with it. Whats even worse! While we went to 'deliberate'! He cut a fucking deal! Because it was so obviously shit, the prosecution 'offered' to drop attempted murder to aggravated assault, and he took it!! I sat in on a jury where a Hispanic male was suing an elderly white man who was about 72 for the loss of the use of his thumb. The elderly man pulled out into intersection and this guy T-Boned him, but the insurance never found who's fault it was because their stories were different about where impact was and speed, and there was no camera footage. Hispanic male made up some what I consider to be sob story about losing his thumb not being able to play with his daughter or do his job from previous, living in pain and potentially having to go for thumb fusion surgery in the future. His lawyer came up with some crazy ass charge between 80 and 100k for pain and suffering, future loss of thumb.
Jury of nine I think four of us were I believe more common sense, four of the other ones were completely feeling horrible for the Hispanic male and his emotionally charged story, and one dude was just there basically said f*** it.
the four common sense of us (3 males, 1 business woman) saw through what we thought was his charade about his thumb basically I wanted to give him the cost of his medical expenses a few weeks off from work and then a lifetime subscription to ibuprofen and tylenol which is what one of the doctors recommended he just do for his pain rather than get a thumb fusion.
The other four, dare I say it, emotional and diverse group of women (2 black, 1 white grandma, and one Butch lesb type) who bought into the whole I can't even pick my daughter up anymore story wanted to give him somewhere in the range of at least 50 to 60k.

Couldn't have a hung jury there so we all had to come to some sort of compromise eventually ended up with the guy getting something around $40k in damages. Which by my estimations was about 25k more than the guy deserved based on his actual expenses and sitting there watching him twiddle his thumbs with no issues while we sat there for two days. No grimace, no shaking his hands, no wringing or massaging. Didn't even cross his mind. Took three hours of our afternoon on judgement to argue and it was just so draining arguing with emotional people who refuse to try to use numbers, logic, and listen to those arguments from others and try to think critically. They just bought it hook line and sinker from the dudes lawyer.
I lost faith in municipal juries then. I hope a criminal jury might be better but I'mma guess not.

If they keep asking you, tell them you are not going to answer any questions right now and you would prefer to have an attorney present, but stay cool and don't let your emotions get the best of you.
Don't talk to law enforcement unless you or another person is in danger. Trying to assess what "admitting guilt" means in a given context especially if you are dealing with someone who wants to swing their LEO Dick around (extra especially if they made a mistake in pulling you over or questioning you in the first place due to profiling or similar). Always speak to law enforcement through representation and make any interaction with LEO as brief as possible by answering direct questions truthfully as required if you are detained or if they have presented their probably cause for lawful action like a search. Record all interactions with LEO so that there is a hard record that your counsel has immediate access to if there is an issue. The longer the interaction the more likely they have something on you. If you're talking to LEO and you didn't call them they're probably looking for something on you.

Definitely consider getting a real lawyer if that's at all financially feasible for you. Incarceration (which I honestly think would be unlikely in this case but if it's up to a judge who fucking knows these days) would entail a loss of income that would far outstrip the likely cost and most private defense attorneys are going to look at your case (based on your description) and see an opportunity to make a quick buck for a day in court laughing at the prosecution and pleading not guilty.

Fuck! I almost received a class 2 misdemeanor for “criminal littering”. I ashed my cigarette out of my window on my way to work before the sun came up. The cop saw sparkles and pulled me over. I told him I don’t flick my butts out the window and showed him my ash tray. He had already wrote it up. I spent $2,500 on a fucking lawyer and they reduced it to community service. Then I got lucky and didn’t have to do community service because COVID was brand new so I just donated school supplies instead and they dismissed it all.
I hate that cop so much. I needed that money really fucking bad at the time, but no way in hell I was going to be a “criminal” in AZ for the rest of my fucking life because of that shit. I wish you luck fren!

I’m pretty used to people who hate smokers like me with an undying passion, but sometimes those people are in positions of authority and can use their power against you instead of only judging you from a distance(reminds me of Fuhqreddit’s story since he isn’t in the cult of Covid and they’re trying to throw the book at him). The main reason I decided to hire a lawyer was because I was worried my bad luck would continue and I’d get a judge that hates smokers too. I think the max they would have fucked me for was $750 in fines and 6 months in jail. I couldn’t take the risk.

I had the free consultation with the lawyer and he said he could go for the dashcam footage and other evidence, but I know that the cops word pretty much counts for law here and a dashcam wouldn’t have caught it anyways because of how small it is. It was nice that my lawyer was able to go to court for me though, so I never had to go anywhere except when I dropped off my donations and had them sign off. I don’t think I would have been able to talk them down to community service and then talk them down again into doing a donation of basically $40.00 though.

I have a friend here in AZ who had some kind of probation because his neighbor heard him call him a faggot from his own yard. I guess my friend was in his own yard with a couple other people having some beers one night and said something like "yeah my neighbor's such a faggot", and the neighbor heard it through an open window in his own house and called the cops. Similar charge as OP, just said a naughty word that was overheard by the "victim" without any threat or physical actions, and he got like a year of probation.

I think it’s either throwing something out of your vehicle 0-100 pounds or something like that and also if it’s “dangerous material” like spent fuel rods or cigarette butts. They word it that way so that normal people like us would assume it’s for that exact scenario you gave as an example, but they can still collect some money from the little people.
The cops here have always given me the impression that they’re extremely bored. They either don’t have enough actual crimes to keep them busy, or they’d rather just go after the safe crimes that means they don’t have to risk anything.
I was stationed at Ft. Lewis, outside of Tacoma, wa. One of the guys in my unit got a ‘no pay due’ for two months because he was new to the unit and was a chain smoker. A Washington state cop followed him for about 15 minutes, counted the number of butts he tossed out the window and wrote him a ticket for each one. $1025.00/each. The court sent the fine to his commander and the post and they docked his pay.

No, you can appeal. Even if you get some leftwing CUNT who finds you guilty, you can immediately appeal her verdict. I don't know about AZ in particular but usually the punishment is postponed until the appeal is heard or rejected (you might have to post a bond, I don't know).
Technically you should hire a lawyer, a First Amendment lawyer. There might even been some that might take the case pro bono because charging people for free speech is entirely unconstitutional. But even if you can't find one pro bono or afford to hire one, you can certainly spend some time on a search engine reading the exact procedure for appealing and the forms to use.
If some coked out Tennessee death-row gangbanger can become a jailhouse lawyer and appeal his case all the way to the US Supreme Court then surely any one of us Pedes can handle it.

I have learned that the basic principle is that you need to get a lawyer that is buddies with the court. Pay him a bunch of money and be ready to plead to a lesser charge but with huge court fees to line the pockets of the judges.

The best advice I can give you in being on the defense is to having your lawyer push off the case for as long as possible. I was in a similar position when I was 18 but I was given an aggravated battery charge over a fist fight. I really didn't have any money and was a little naive at first until the possibility of going to prison for 31 to 136 finally hit me. My uncle laid it out perfectly how the events were going to play out. The first thing and only thing I let happen was the preliminary hearing that I was at for 15 minutes (He called it and I started listening). Being broke was a bummer but I was able to get a public defender who literally made up an excuse each court date auntil the DA was off the case. With a regular prosecutor on the case I had more legroom to push for a misdemeanor with restitution and avoided prison and a felony all together.

delay delay delay, dont take the first or 2nd offer. its not a felony so never cop to that..you want to keep your guns/defend your family. what state? prosecutirs HATE going to trial. use that to your favor, never plea to any probation over 364 days! also your abiity to travel will be affected....i know its fucked up that misdemeanors dont allow for jury trial in some states. if need be, depending on how its going, get the media involved!
