Moles could have easily been removed by digital retouching with hardly any effort. It's customary to make the deceased look as good as possible, and that traditional goes to casket viewings (call it 'north american protestant consoooomerism obsessed with looks instead of substance' if you like).

I made my initial post based on what OP provided without link to the video. It was later on QFL that I saw the actual video and did a WTF, cause he's definitely ex military, trained hard somewhere, and has that quirky personality and approach.
