When I taught, I loathed most of my co-workers. I don't know which group of teachers in which decade hoodwinked enough simpletons into casting educators as a sacred cow in our society, but no one is more obnoxious than the modern day teachers who actually believe their own hype.

I've had awesome teachers and professors. I'm certainly not saying they don't exist. Hell... I still do guest lectures from time to time when invited, and I would like to think that has value. My beef is with the teachers who are addicted to undeserved adulation and the culture of academia. The only thing cringier is Hollywood celebs giving each other awards and using their speeches to tell the common man how they should feel about the world.
