Not trying to be a doomer here, but let me play devils advocate for a minute. Could it be that Ted Cruz senses an opportunity here to fill the vacuum created from the potential of President Trump not winning? He really doesn't have much to lose by supporting Trump right now, and certainly sees the support he could possibly gain from Trump's absence. What has Cruz done in the past 4 years to really support Trump's agenda/policies? I myself used to be a huge Ted Cruz fan during the Tea Party years of the Obama admin. Seems to my recollection Cruz has been very quiet on the political stage since 2016. I have no problem with people supporting Cruz. I just ask you to honestly answer these questions:

"Where has Ted Cruz been the last 4 years while Trump was leading the fight for us and why is he chosing this moment to finally join now?"
