Get your math right.
99.98% chance of surviving even with comorbidities. Only 6% died with 1 or fewer comorbidites so if you have 1 or fewer, the chance of surviving is 99.9999%. I imagine the number of people who died with no comorbidities is practically 0, because no one dies FROM COVID-19.
Also, we talk about the 0.1% fatality rate of the flu. But the flu kills 0.1% OF THE ENTIRE POPULATION each year, perfectly healthy people included. The total fatality rate of COVID-19 among those with 1 or fewer comorbidities is 0.00004% -- the common cold is more dangerous.
A more important measure is how many years of life are lost due to a disease. That is, count how many years the person would live, and then subtract their age, and add that up, and divide it by the number of people. Doing this math actually shows that COVID-19 increases your lifespan. I know this sounds ridiculous, but people the only people who die from this are already past the average lifespan!
Then there's this: Assume that COVID-19 lasts 2 weeks. If the average lifespan is 85, then you'd expect 1.176% of the population to die each year or 0.0452% to die in a 2-week span. The CASE fatality rate is 0.006% or something, and the infected fatality rate is something like 0.000075%. That is, IF YOU GET COVID YOU LIVE LONGER. You have a higher chance of dying WITHOUT COVID than to die with it!
The recent Johns Hopkins U study showed that 2020 was actually a GREAT year to be alive -- fewer people than expected died, and COVID is likely to blame for it.
