Also a millenial, former head in the sand left leaning moderate that thought the Democrats were the party that helped people. Redpilled on election night 2016 after not voting because I "hated" both of them. It was a gut check, and I found myself feeling excited as state after state flipped red. Seeing the left's temper tantrum sealed the deal, and I educated myself on what was actually going on. It's been a wild ride. So glad that you are here, and you are not alone! There are so many of us that have walked away from the left. :)
Was the strangest thing when it all hit me.
Went from "orange man bad" to "I WILL FUCKING DIE FOR THIS MAN" within like... days.

I feel like it was slower for me because I truly watched what he did in office. I was relieved that Hillary wasn't in office, but it took me a little while to realize that Trump was truly a man of his word. I don't really pay attention to people's words. I pay attention to their actions. So I needed the time to see if Trump did what he said he would do.... and he did! By midterms I was HOOKED and a hardcore Trump supporter. I voted straight Republican for the first time in my life in 2018. Casting my vote for him in 2020 was such a proud moment. I felt like he had earned my vote by doing such an amazing job in office. It wasn't a vote against anybody, or a vote for the lesser of two evils which is usually how it feels. This time, I got to vote FOR someone that I believed in. And now I tear up almost every time I watch one of his rallies, and I'm just so proud that he is our president. I truly love and respect him, and I feel like God is really using him for a great purpose.

Take your time with the Papers. I also recommend writing your own summaries every paragraph or so. I wrote my own modern English version of a few a while back. It was really instructive.
And, hell, try Emerson, Self-Reliance, if you are getting into heavy writing. It's more spiritual than political, tho.
