They are desperate and they're a joke. We need Alito to drop the hammer and set the precedent. Turn the tide.

SCOTUS needs to set up a whole new voting system in hopelessly fucked states like PA.

22
shade1k 22 points ago +22 / -0

They really require an "ongoing consent decree" like when California's prison system was so fucked the federal courts had to step in. California's prison system is still monitored.

SBOJ_JOBS 15 points ago +15 / -0

I suggest a 21st century equivalent of Resconstruction for GA, PA, MI, MN, AZ, NV, NY, and CA.

As a resident of one of those states, I am well aware of the horrible excesses and disasters of the 19th century Reconstruction, but at some point a state must be forced to recognize and live under the terms of the contract which is the Constitution.

4
Chick-fill-eh 4 points ago +4 / -0

Could just crater nyc/la etc. World would be better off, and the rest of the state would correct the issues.

SCOTUS should do to PA like they did to the southern states and impose federal oversight of elections

2
Throwingway22 2 points ago +2 / -0

While it's been a long time since I've read the law, the Voter's Rights Act, which had federal oversight of southern state elections for decades, could likely be used in these third world despotic states to reign in the blatant fraud. Or just have the Republican controlled legislatures grow a spine...

39
MAGAA2020isback 39 points ago +39 / -0

Jesus, this is like the DNC when they said, "there may have been rigging against Sanders, but we have the right to choose the candidate."

21
Gesirisi 21 points ago +22 / -1

I know they rigged it against Ron Paul in 2012. He was the rightful Republican nominee.

where's the YOU ARE HERE compass?

so now there is fraud, and it MAY have been an impact, but stay out of it.

The next step is ‘Trump stole the election’, right?

That meme has been incredibly accurate so far. Almost like it’s a pattern.

We're still in "Even if SCOTUS rules in favor, it's not enough to swing the election".

2

Nah we're at there may be cases but scotus won't do anything next it's the recusals.

23

20

Love how they didn't mention what happens when there is a public loss of trust in an election...

Fuck them.

4
Damiano 4 points ago +6 / -2

Oh, they mentioned it. They just seem to think that the only people that matter are BLM and ANTIFA.

Pg. 2:

They make that request without any acknowledgment of the staggering upheaval, turmoil, and acrimony it would unleash.

Alt Text: You must let our fraud stand or we will have our BLM brownshirts burn every city in America.

As I have been saying, anyone who thought that the "peaceful protests" and "summer of love" in Seattle had anything to do with a felon ODing hasn't been paying attention. They were sending a message to cities, legislatures, and courts.

3
tiredofwinning2020 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yeah no doubt. Too bad this would be trumps last term and optics won’t matter one bit. Marshal law will be upon them before they can say BLM.

And everyone reports at the same time.

4
deleted 4 points ago +4 / -0
2
Frog_Anne 2 points ago +2 / -0

At the very least, everyone should report how many ballots they have before counting begins. Assuming absentee for overseas military/first responders only, then you have the total number of those, and then when polls close you have the total number of votes. Period. No "finding" boxes of Dem votes until they have as many as they need.

1
TowerLake 1 point ago +1 / -0

No, they all report like they currently are.

The only reason why we caught this fraud was because they reported the count in increments, using statistical methods.

1
1A_FTW 1 point ago +1 / -0

While I understand that, I’m not certain how that works against preventing them from working how many votes they need to create to steal close elections. Remember, even though we had some idea that it was going on, it mostly went ignored until it was too huge to ignore. We need to be able to come up with some ways of combating that.

1
TowerLake 1 point ago +1 / -0

Because they are terrorists who are incapable of learning.

Even if they get caught, they will still try again, just a different and less noticeable way.

Even when we prove fraud and implement changes to prevent this, can you honestly and truthfully tell me that the terrorists won’t try to cheat ever again?

They will just find another loophole and cheat again.

1
1A_FTW 1 point ago +1 / -0

I think we can harden the system to a point that it makes it incredibly difficult to cheat, but no, I don’t expect the cheating attempts to completely stop.

2
Best4Business 2 points ago +2 / -0

Ballots should be counted 3 separate times before submitted for final total. Then, each and every state should go through a full forensic audit of every ballot to confirm legitimacy.

Voter ID must be shown at all polling places, and every single vote must be kept for audit.

Outlaw mail in voting and make it mandatory that any and all ballots that have been "found" after all polling places close are null and void.

What exactly is Pennsylvania's argument? We're deathly afraid black people will riot again and the police will have to stand down again. There will be grave consequences for Walmarts in Philadelphia again.

The Justices' one job is to up-hold the Constitution. This should be such an easy decision. As the Texas suit eluded...are we to have a Constitution or just a piece of parchment paper.

1
misterLahey 1 point ago +1 / -0

This. I assume the PA tack is to try to appeal to the SC's possible hesitance over getting involved in electoral affairs; however, this tack does not address the very real, very tangible violations of due process and equal protection. Obviously, I'm no lawyer, but PA's argument seems like weaksauce compared to the Constitutional issues raised by the plaintiffs.

4
deleted 4 points ago +4 / -0
4
KaladinStormBlessed 4 points ago +4 / -0

So their response is basically "if you let this go forward there will be riots" wouldn't expect anything else.

3
ikuyas 3 points ago +3 / -0

Doesn't this just make the situation bad for PA? They insist to join in the federal process but force themselves to violate the rule. I think other states or federal government should just invade PA.
