I refuse the flu shots. My dad got a rare disease, Vaculitis of the brain, and I suspect it was from a flu shot. We can't prove it, but it is an autoimmune disease. Something kicked it off and it is the only thing I can think of.
The body is such a complicated organic machine that diseases like that are not even close to being fully understood.
The thing is, it's highly unlikely to be triggered by any external stimuli, that kind of thing is very rare and it's usually the result of having some sort of exposure to something extremely destructive of human tissues. Ie, certain types of radiation.
Basically, it's an almost certainty that the flu shot didn't trigger the disease.
That's my point. The flu is bad, from my perspective it's so bad I'm willing to accept the minor risk of the shot if it gives me a significantly lower chance of catching it.
If you'd rather be more susceptible to catching the flu than taking that risk, fortunately we live in America and nobody can force you to get vaccinated.

Your immune system is far more effective than a flu shot which even they admit half the time is not giving you protection for the strains of flu in circulation that year (they have to guess which ones to put in the vaccine months in advance). Take 5000 IUs of vitamin D3 each day. Avoid processed food. Eat a can of sardines now and then. Get your omega 3s. These are real ways to prevent not just flu, but all kinds of diseases that occur as a result of our bodies not having proper nutrition. Do this and you'll be fine. I never get the flu basically. I do get colds now and then.

For now that is...
