I’m a first responder. My supervisor just called me saying that we can expect to get the vaccine in sometime in the next 30 days and wanting to know if I want one. Said no. Not sure what that’s gonna mean for my employment here. That’s it Pedes, have a great day.

Sounds appealing. What do Quakers believe about salvation and what is a Quaker?
It's really up to the individual as there is no set church doctrine. Most Quakers I knew were from a Presbyterian, Episcopalian, or Universalist background with a strong interest in Buddhism.
Meeting isn't a place to get into doctrinal debates. It's a meeting of the Spirit. The idea is to be open and let God lead. In more liberal meetings, God is usually referred to as The Light. But there's a lot of tolerance over what people's backgrounds are and the places they are on their faith journey.
The basic tenants of Quaker practice are Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Community, Equality, and Stewardship.
Interesting. I shall do some research as I come from an evangelical background but believe in Jesus centered faith (The group that closely aligns to my faith is Blue Ocean Faith, we just don’t have them anywhere near my city).
I had not heard of that faith group, but reading a bit about it, it sounds a lot like my experience in Quaker meeting. Interesting.
Quakers are supposed to be a Christian denomination but the inclusiveness of meetings skews Universalist. One of its best qualities is the focus on meeting as equal spirit to equal spirit. This was so refreshing to me after years of evangelical catechisms and programs which create such a divide between the average person and a "church person."
I'm in a Baptist church now since I moved. I went to enough small studies to connect with some people and formed a small life group. I pretty much just told them that this was the way I did church and everyone was cool with it.
