I still contend that a blockchain-based national voting system would provide transparency and integrity. It is a simple enough application. States would each have a portal that citizens could log on to after receiving an ID based on a hash of their SSN.

Or some sort of partnership w/ credit card manufacturers to create a disposable, picture voter ID card. Card has 2 identifying chips, perforated down the middle, so when you vote, the vote center keeps half the card as record, and you keep the other half as record or two dispose of as you please.

Blockchain is a great idea. Transparent. Trust-less. Immutable. Don't need poll watchers b/c everyone can see all the counting, and it gets double-checked many times over.

Would be great to have a record to double check your vote, and see it's place on the blockchain. Have to do something about bullying employers, union leaders, spouses checking someone's vote. Maybe go into a supervised booth solo any time of year alone to check your vote.

Other ideas I like: digital image of each ballot (anonymized) available online so anyone could recount the whole country if they wanted to.

In-person voting, voter ID, purple finger. Minimize absentee and have equivalent verification voting officials from each party pay a visit in person.

There should be a secure way to see and validate your vote down the whole ballot including its position in the process as well.

I want to see where my ballot was scanned, at what time, by whom, and where in the position of the counted results it is.
