The majority of personnel in Combat Arms and Operations, to this day, come from the South, Texas, and the Red counties of California. There are many legacy families, I come from one, that are multigenerational military families. In combat arms and ops, there is a strong rightwing sentiment. In a civil war, I believe the military would fracture.
There is no legal advantage to be gained by another state joining the lawsuit now that it has been docketed.
Before it was accepted, having more States put their weight behind it might have been a consideration. Now though it would be an empty gesture.
However by not joining the lawsuit, my understanding is that Alabama retains better position to possible launch its own lawsuit with alternate arguments is the Texan one fails.
