I'm better informed than most. But you don't need a doctorate in medieval church history to see what's plain to anyone. Two bishops in white, living in the Vatican, both answering to "pope". Obviously, one is a pretender, and I know who my money is on.

Is word on fire (the podcast) based and Francis-pilled? It seems like it might be due to what it covers and declines to cover. I'm not catholic, but some of the catholic scholarship from WOF ends up seeming more concrete than what I got from an evangelical church years ago.

Not based. Not terrible for beginner stuff. Try the sspx podcast, or taylor marshall / restoring the faith for more commentary type stuff
WOF has a lot of good material, but some of Bp. Barron's videos on hell are shaky and based on some very dubious theologians.
Consider Dr. Taylor Marshall instead. Not only a solid Catholic theologian, but also a leader of Catholics for Trump.
