Christ - sinless by His very nature, deserved a mother who was at least the equal of Eve in virtue, and made sinless by the fullness of grace by which God held her up. He gave her the fullness of virtue. His prerogative and entirely fitting.

David, Jesse and Joseph weren't pregnant with Jesus for nine months. Mary was pregnant with God. That's why Mary is the Ark of the covenant.
