Post WW2, pre-Viet Nam. When the commies/leftists hadn't managed to get very far in their cold war here yet, because we were actually fighting them for a while.
Things were already going down hill somewhat when we landed on the moon, something I remember well.
But it is also the mindset of those times, which we saw flashes of when Reagan was in office, but nothing like back before leftism got entrenched.
I don't think it is an era or a timeline. I think it's a state of mind in which Americans are expected to be the best they can be, to fight for their own priorities for a change (our veterans for instance), and are no longer expected to put the entire world first (going to war and dying for all these causes that we need not be involved in). It's a pride of hard work and saying that individuals are capable of creating and fulfilling their own destiny. It is no longer about walking around like you are apologetic to everyone else and stand for nothing.
Exactly. When was America great? We've overcome war, recession and terrorism. When was America great? Any moment in time before barrack Hussein. Barry was hell bent on transforming America into a race obsessed utopia where our values were traded for sexual deviance and the war against success and the American dream. If it is not clear when America way great then I'm sorry but you don't belong here. You have to go back.
It's not an era, it's a principle. Make America great again by adhering to the fundamental principles and ideals contained in our founding documents.
If you want an era to be attached to the slogan, I'd recommend 1776.
We have been great many times in our history, we will be great again (doesn’t mean go back to old ways but to break new frontiers like we repeatedly have)
I think it's more about removing the restrictions the government has placed on America at the behest of multi-national corporations and international banking cartels, a return to the free-market capitalism that made us the greatest nation the world has ever seen. Remember: He hung a portrait of Andrew Jackson in The Oval Office.
not so much a time, more so our morals and standards and place at the top of the world.
Idk. 60s were a pretty good time to grow up. Lot of things going on but life for me was like living in mayberry
Makes sense, the country was like 80% red then.
It was. God fearing flag waving patriots.

1776-Now.

Great is a mindset of exceptional character, not time period. America is the best country in the world period.
