The old days: the old vets remember when the front page algorithm broke and we spammed the front three pages with Donald's face and STILL YOUR PRESIDENT captions 🤣🤣

What losers. Reddit had to

  • Implement new site wide rules

  • develop new front page algorithms

  • Change so stickied posts can't hit front page

  • Develop an algorithm to pad the numbers of active users online (remember when it was something crazy like 80,000?)

  • Pad the subscriber count. Was only 400k? But that one day the advertising sub count proved we were at like 6 million!

  • Halt new subscriber count from adding to the total. Went from thousands of new subs a day to like 3 every few days

  • make a "Popular" tab as to better regulate what is shown to users

  • quarantine us under "cop hating pretenses" (which is hilariously backwards)

  • Make a series of Reddit official announcements and thread talks about what they're doing to combat "hate speech" aka salve whiney redeitors complaining about TD being active

  • ban users

  • shadow ban users

  • Harass users in DMs

  • dox users

  • make 100 different BlueWave/EnoughTrumpSpam/TrumpTweetsTrump/ConservativesForBlue fake subreddit a where they have one 10.5k upvoted post to hit the front page with anti-trump news

  • Kill any AsKReddit thread that had positive Pro-Trump posts

  • Warn users for upvoting the wrong posts (seriously)

  • Instantly ban anyone who posted in TD from posting in other subs

  • Spam BlackPeopleTwitter with anti-Trump posts, and delete all anti-Clinton/Biden/Harris posts (saw it with my own eyes)

  • Astroturf the entire site with propaganda

  • Edit users posts through the Reddit backend database, so the users posts doesn't show the "edited" asterisk. Reddit admits admitted to this, saying it was "just a joke" to blow off steam

  • Ban an entire sub

This is all from memory, I'm 100% sure there's more, but look how they try to demoralize us.

You can't demoralize 250+ years of red blooded patriotism. We are the Sons and Daughters of Liberty, posting memes and shattering leftie dreams.

Get some, nerds.

I was there through all of that in september of 2016 till the sub got locked. Goddamn wild ride.

Please update your post to include unindexing it with te quarantine as well as the quarantine status basically being made I think because of TD and made to look to normies like theyll get a virus.

Also they imposed their own mods.

Required ridiculous levels of censorship.

Using comments with like 5 upvotes to justify actions when the posts were obviously brigading set up.

Crazy double standard because redacted literally is violent rhetoric often

r/donald kept being at the top of the reddit front page and the admins and spz didn't like it and kept changing the rules.etc

Was pretty funny. Even accused us of using bots.

Also there was that one half a second when reddit revealed how many ACTUAL subscribers /r/The_Donald had and it was something outrageous like 6 million.

And then they scrubbed that too.

Someone tried to buy ads and noticed that our community showed 600k or so subscribers but was telling people buying ads the community had 6 or 7M subscribers.

Similar to how Trump has 80M followers on Twitter but only gets 100k likes.

Always suppression with the commies.

Accused of using bots?! More like accusing USERS as being bots. I typed my name in some reddit username identifier thing and it literally had me labeled as "Russian Bot". Can't make it up!

Wouldn't doubt it, tbh. Reddit at this point is where the mentally ill gather.

TheDonald Domreddit was so popular that it was frequently almost every page linked on the front page of reddit back when their algorithms weren't pro-Chynah.

Then they started screwing with algorithms and creating special anti-theDonald rules in place. They justified it all by lying that the mods were breaking rules.

It got to the point where the head of reddit, or whatever he is, "Spez", actually editted someone else's comment, which is probably illegal.

More rule fuckery, and BOOM, CLANDESTINE THEDONALD.WIN came outta nowhere to kill reddit

I wasn’t there for any of that, but it sounds glorious. I’m very glad I happened (it’s happening!) upon this post and read down the comments, but it’d be great to have it fully compiled and made available as a perma-sticky or link on the footer to “tdw history.” For other people like me who are new, but who didn’t stumble on this thread.

The front page of reddit used to be all Pepe and Trump memes. Then they weighted their algorithms to stop us from taking over their shit hole site
