And God bless America.

Same app, same Verse of the Day at 6am today... kept the notification open all day so that I'd see it every time I checked my phone. It worked all day and refueled the fire many times.

This one is the Verse of the Year as far as I'm concerned!

awesome idea! so glad to hear it kept refueling you, that’s wonderful. and I definitely agree with you!

Just downloaded it so I can listen to audio of it while walking my dog. Have never read the Bible on my own, only when I used to go to church as a kid.

There is much written work that can be read by kids and teenagers but isn't fully understood until later when you gain further wisdom and intelligence. The Bible is certainly one of these works. I wish everyone could read it from a secular angle before taking it on from a religious one, including the most devout.

It’s a daunting task. I’m ashamed to say that, but it wasn’t until I was older did I realize there are all sorts of more “modern” study Bibles that feel more engaging. Perhaps you’re already aware of that. I’m not suggesting reading is better than listening, just friendly advice from one pede to another.

Which version do you like?

1
Maga4Demmies 1 point ago +1 / -0

I have the “Jesus-Centered Bible” which is an NLT version by classification. I highly recommend. The reason I chose this Bible is because within the text it has annotations off to the side on each page. A quick image search will show you what I mean. I grew up on KJV and NIV versions and some people, for one reason or the other, are wary of NLT, but I personally see no harm or difference compared to the versions I read in elementary and high school.

I love the ESV version. it’s flows more easily to me and the wording still reflects KJV, but with a much more modern touch.

so glad to hear this! that’s a really great way to reintroduce yourself to it. I’ll be honest myself, this year is the first time I have consistently read my Bible daily, but now I can’t imagine starting or ending my day without it. if you have any questions, please feel free to message me! 🙂
