Unless you deliberately registered for his class, you are very fortunate to find yourself in his class. Educators like that tend to more concerned about you and your future than lefties who are all about themselves and trying to enlist you to follow them and their cause. Definitely send him a note of appreciation - it will make his day (speaking from experience).
