That's what I was going to say. Dude is a supreme court beast if you look at his track record. Didn't read the whole thing yet but they made it all but impossible to at least get a case in court. I'm sure he was already ready to at least consult on it as he had been preparing for the PA case most likely.
Thats the problem with most of the GOP. Carson and Paul are medical nerds who quote numbers and stats. Rubio looks like a pussy. Ted is a massive nerd. Then again the general oppostion in 2024 will be buttedge probably so any of those 5 will do.
By pussy, i think the pede meant thecatcher. You know, the bottom hugger, the pillow biter, the refrigerator (where you put the meat in), the cock holster, the fudge ractory. Does that clarify things?
The GOP in general needs to get on board with the maga economic policy. Its a guarenteed winning proposal..to hell with their wall street donors. We will donate to them if they stop shilling for china. Why is this so damn hard for them to understand?
yeah. he has no enthusiasm in those 4 states. total opposite of POTUS trump who is a northerner and conservatives in northern purple/red/blue states love him so much. northerners don't like southerners like how southerners don't like northerners (except trump incredibly appeals to everybody). nixon and reagan lucked out because they were from CA which was neutral ground back then so no northern or southern bias.
Part of me wonders if Cruz sees how popular the MAGA movement is and is using this as an opportunity to win everyone over in the event that he runs in 2024. Honestly, I’m not upset about it.
Same. Actions always speak louder than words. Reminds me of people saying Lin Wood is a fake wearing a MAGA hat. Well the man is doing WORK, I couldn't care less about appearances. We all know its the left that's swayed by that.
He can do use me in whatever way he sees fit if he does what no other senator has done in my lifetime: faithfully protect and preserve our constitutional rights for as long as he is in office.
Why the hell don't more politicians do this?? They are experts at capitalizing on things to further their careers and yet so few jump on the Trump train. Honestly curious what their deal is. Is China's money really that good? What gives??
Exactly! Additionally, you’re a slave to china’s demands. Maybe in the moment it works out and you have a nice cushy financial incentive, but china is seen as an enemy for a reason. It’s a matter of time before you’re in a predicament you will certainly wish you weren’t in.
Maybe more people will follow Cruz’s lead once they see the overwhelming support he’s getting from the 75m people who voted for Trump.
No way is Cruz just a sneaky opportunist. Cruz was MAGA before MAGA, although he didn’t know about Trump at first. He was a leader of the Tea Party movement that protested big government and bailing out mega-corporations at the expense of tax payers. Opposed TPP. Always worked for common citizens against RINO Republicans. These are why he came second in the 2016 primaries.
I've noticed Cruz has typically been vocal about/sided with MAGA on issues we have been vocal about. What I'm mostly referring to is in our darkest hour, E V E R Y O N E has parroted "no evidence of fraud! biden is president-elect!". I'm sure a lot of these people do believe this election was a farce, but they're probably in some kind of position where they cannot acknowledge it for whatever reason. No one with any recognition has had the balls to put their neck out on the line. I think Cruz likely is on our side, but i'm just saying i wouldn't be surprised if he thought "shit if I do something about this, this is probably gonna hand me a win if I run for X", because it's true. Trump's base is HUGE and anyone stepping into the lion's den to stand up for Trump is a patriot to us, and we'll return the favor if we can.
It's not a bad thing, I don't think he's slimy or disingenuous by any means. I think he just acknowledges this has multiple benefits, some even personal for him. Shit, i wish more people would take the hint and stand up in our defense, even if they're just being an opportunist. That'll help "legitimize" this to the people who think this claim has no backing and will likely bring more support.
I was totally going for him till the Trump train happened. The moment Trump's plane flew over his head and he looked up and realized it wasn't his time....yet!
He is still pretty young. He might take the bench eventually. I think he has his eyes on being president a lot more and after being a pretty firm Trump supporter he probably will get a good amount of support in 2024.
Whether it's Lion Ted's work, Ken Paxton's work, the work of a Texas AG office lawyer, or the collective work of the Texas AG office's lawyers, I have to say I'm very fucking impressed with what AG Ken Paxton did here.
And I was sure Paxton was one of the low-key traitors! I'm so sorry about that! And I'm soooo happy to see he's done us good!
I hate to say it, but at this point I’d be cool with a splintering I think. Cut the dead-weight blue states loose and let them drown themselves. I’d say wall them off, but if history is a guide they’ll take care of that themselves.
Consider readmittance to the union in a generation or two, after they’ve demonstrated they’ve got their shit back together, and only when they can pass the same test as a legal immigrant’ s citizenship exam.
That's an outsider's view of the states... It doesn't take into account the very real geographic boundaries of the country. Colorado, for example, is split in half politically and physically by The Rockies.
To REALLY redraw the map of the United States, you'd have to take into account foreign occupation and divvying up of territory, the re-routing of major waterways (Mississippi River goes this way now), and uninhabitable nuclear fallout zones.
Canadian here, I've often wondered the same thing... even about my own country/province. I Live in Northwestern Ontario... I'd way rather be part of Manitoba and be like the 2nd biggest city, than be part of Ontario where they only care about Toronto. Much like most states don't want to live in a place where people only care about New York and California.
I think the only reason this even became a problem is that the Federal Government has become too large and overreaching. It seems to defeat the entire purpose of having a "United STATES of America" when who leads the federal government appears to be more important than who leads each state.
If people in California want healthcare... why doesn't California do it?
Hell, if the law regarding free travel amongst the states was removed, let them have their illegal immigrants too.
First off, in my head I read the entire thing in my head in a stereotypical Canadian accent.
Second, I think you’re correct in that states’ autonomy has been completely overruled. I’d like to see a much smaller federal government with states freer to control their own destiny. What works for New York City isn’t going to apply to Sioux Falls, SD.
Most of the country is focused on who gets elected President.
The Constitution guarantees each state EQUAL representation in the Senate (this is why each state has two Senators, from California all the way down to Wyoming).
Texas is suing the other states claiming they stole the election.
The Vice President casts a tiebreaking vote on every issue that gets stuck in the Senate by the way of a tie.
THEREFORE, Texas’ allegation is that the states that stole the election, VIOLATED Texas’ right to equal representation in the Senate, because even though the whole world is focused on who gets elected President, we also (obviously) elect a Vice President. And because the stolen election would make Kamala Harris the Vice President, the argument here is that the states violated Texas’ (and other states’) right to equal representation in the Senate by unlawfully and fraudulently electing the person who gets to break any ties which would eventually arise.
They’re forcing the Supreme Court to play ball by hopefully making them say, “you’re right, elections have consequences and each state has the right to rest assured that the person casting the tiebreaker vote in the Senate was rightfully elected to that position.”
Hopefully I did an alright job of explaining that.
Thank you for that breakdown. I'm like the person you responded to. My brain bursts 4 lines into a lawyers writing. I just found that out about me today. I used to think I was somewhat smart too. Haha
If they rule that the constitution is toilet paper, then that would equally mean we don't have to follow it to carry out the rest of the election in the manner it sets out.
Texas has a huge military. Besides the National Guard, Texas has its own Army and Navy and Marines independent of the NG. It is a force to be reckoned with.
If the Constitution becomes a museum piece, then Texas can
levy tariffs on blue States (fuck them)
control migration from blue States and abroad (fuck them all)
take over the Dallas Fed and print dollars as needed (fuck the Fed)
wage war against the Fraudulent Election States (fuck them)
It gets scary when you think about. Sure woe vs wade is out, but so is the 1A and 2A, hell, even the 4th could be thrown out by various States and not a dam thing could be done about it. If I'm interpreting this whole case correctly, this is a fucking huge pandora's box.
Yeah, of all the states to launch the lawsuit, the fact it was Texas has added gravitas because of what special history and rights Texas brings to the table.
What happens if SCOTUS sides with Texas? Will those electoral college votes be decided by the state legislatures? What do the legislatures in those states look like? If they're all Democrats or RINOs than it could still go to biden even with SCOTUS on our side.
Still, for an actual state to be sueing other states over the election is a MASSIVE escalation and a show that there is official opposition to the Democrats' bullshit.
Yes the legislatures decide the electors. Yes they're Republican but yes Republicans are spineless cowards who would much rather be the controlled opposition minority party so they can whine and bitch and moan but not actually accomplish anything
"No, see, SCOTUS can't be allowed to stop this violation of the Connstitution because the violation was TOO BIG. See, small violations should be stopped, but this was a HUGE violation that will affect the entire country... so we must forgive it. Some constitutional violations are TOO BIG TO STOP."
I mean I wouldnt put it past some of the SCOTUS co sidering it a meaningless piece of paper. But surely 5 out of 9 will do their job to uphold the constitution. It should be 9 - 0 case.
I wrote that yesterday, that SCOTUS not defending the Constitution by refusing to rule on case like this and refusing for decades to even consider ones that would lead to interpreting the 2nd Amendment... will render them obstructionists.
You won't preserve our right to bear arms without infringement... and now you won't preserve the Constitution's rules for federal elections?
Charge them all with failing to uphold their duties and oaths of office. Bench sitting traitors, handing over our nation to China on a silver platter.
Exactly, if the USSC flops on this clear pile of unconstitutional cheating then I’ll be on the last box rest of my life however long that may be, I won’t live under some bullshit China NWO BS
Ted Cruz was the solicitor general for Texas prior to the Senate. He’s been in front of SCOTUS dozens of times. He clerked for Chief Justice Rehnquist. He knows what he is doing.
So let's assume for a moment that China has been at war with us for at least 10 years.
During that time, they tried to put Beto in place of Cruz, where Cruz is a constitutional lawyer. They Failed that (because the vote machines did not make it into place in TX).
They now have an election where, whatever happens to 27 seats in the house, the house is still Demo and Nancy is still in charge.
The Senate happens to have a run-off in GA that could make it 50/50. GA has gone out of its way to be corrupt and as Linn has pointed out, the GA governor paid off a lot of debt just after winning his election. Now Kemp won't verify signatures and won't stop a certification of the election.
Meanwhile, once we would have 50/50 in the Senate (and still a majority Democrat in the House), the Vice President would break ties in the Senate.
Oh, and supposedly Biden gave up all our spies to be executed.
That is, after Chief Justice Roberts has been making the most twisted logic to give Dems what they want.
Hmm. It does tie together nicely and has a level of indirection that helps leave doubt.
More to the point, the Texas filing is using SCOTUS as an original court of jurisdiction, which means that not only can questions of law be brought up, but SCOTUS gets to actually look at and rule on evidence.
This sounds like Lion Ted's work.
You're not the first person I've heard suggest that. A few people have said that this lawsuit has Ted Cruz's fingerprints all over it.
I saw smidges of blood as well
A married couple were even able to decode some of what he wrote
this made me snort
Ted Cruz makes a quick stop before filing the paperwork
When will Ted Cruz disavow?!
Impossible. The Zodiac Killer never let fingerprints!
I just wanted to say that I love your user name. Top kek

I had no opinion of Ted Cruz before this year. I’m at the point where if this was 2024 and he was on the ballot I would vote for him.
Thats the problem with most of the GOP. Carson and Paul are medical nerds who quote numbers and stats. Rubio looks like a pussy. Ted is a massive nerd. Then again the general oppostion in 2024 will be buttedge probably so any of those 5 will do.
Rubio looks like a pussy? I guess the ole saying "you are what you eat" has some exceptions.
Good point. He looks like an asshole.
By pussy, i think the pede meant thecatcher. You know, the bottom hugger, the pillow biter, the refrigerator (where you put the meat in), the cock holster, the fudge ractory. Does that clarify things?
I was going to comment on how much detail you know in regards to gay slang, but saw your username checks out.
GOP has too many Spocks, and not enough Kirks
kek i can see the Vulcan's raised eyebrow from my house.
Mayor Pete is their Agenda 2030 (2028) Candidate of choice.
This is why he made the last big pitch for Biden in Racine, Wisconsin.
Hispanics turned out huge for Trump, Who knows, maybe the first "latino" president will be a Republican.
I'd probably stay home if it was Rubio or if Haley was involved. Or God forbid both together, then I'd come out and vote somebody else.
Fuck Rubio in Particular. Dude sounded awesome during his first run for Senate, then the minute he gets in he jumps into bed with Schumer. Snake.
The GOP in general needs to get on board with the maga economic policy. Its a guarenteed winning proposal..to hell with their wall street donors. We will donate to them if they stop shilling for china. Why is this so damn hard for them to understand?

Cruz took Wisconsin and came in 2nd everywhere but Ohio where they voted for their former governor until they saw what a RINO and slob he was.
Wow forgot about how much of a slob Kasich is. He just crams it all in there like a muzzle loader. Very disgusting.
Very disrespectful.
I think the old rubric is changing. It is becoming "red vs. blue."
Soon we'll just be makin' up animals... what in the Sam Hell is a puma anyway?!

I was totally going for him till the Trump train happened. The moment Trump's plane flew over his head and he looked up and realized it wasn't his time....yet!
I believe our 2024 nominee will be Kristi Noem.
Change my mind.
I would like to see him supplant Cocaine Mitch
He was even on Trump's short list for ACB's seat... Cruz declined, saying, "I want to fight."

To REALLY redraw the map of the United States, you'd have to take into account foreign occupation and divvying up of territory, the re-routing of major waterways (Mississippi River goes this way now), and uninhabitable nuclear fallout zones.
That map is crap.
Pull up a map of blue vs red and that's how it splits up. I would expect individual counties to leave blue states for red.
it's not even blue STATES that are the problem.
it's a handfull of blue cities holding the entire state hostage.
The entire nation.

They would fail badly without the prosperity of the red states, and would be begging to join together with them again.
The SCOTUS -must- be unanimous on this. I see no way for them to wiggle out of supporting the Constitution. And the REEEEEEing will be epic...

So basically Trump wins either way.
If they rule in a constitutional way, Trump wins.
If they rule that the constitution is toilet paper, then that would equally mean we don't have to follow it to carry out the rest of the election in the manner it sets out.
Second option would lead to Insurrection Act, I guess
BINGO
If SCOTUS rules against, they are effectively telling us there is no law.
If there is no law, the President, being chief executive and top law enforcement must return to order.
Ergo insurrection act.
This was a brilliant strategic piece from Texas. Whoever wrote this is a strategic thinker and one well versed in Constitutional law.
hooooweeeee
yep... I mean at that point Trump could do whatever he wanted, but in protection of the constitution hopefully.
Well only if they have enough evidence that the states did in fact break federal law while running their elections.
interesting, so when people were asking where's lion ted? he was busy doing constitutional shit
We are wining this
IF they agree to hear it
Texas has a huge military. Besides the National Guard, Texas has its own Army and Navy and Marines independent of the NG. It is a force to be reckoned with.

The SCOTUS has to understand all of this.
It gets scary when you think about. Sure woe vs wade is out, but so is the 1A and 2A, hell, even the 4th could be thrown out by various States and not a dam thing could be done about it. If I'm interpreting this whole case correctly, this is a fucking huge pandora's box.
Oh yeah, absolutely, fuck abortion rights if this sham election goes through.
Break all their toys.
Don't leave me trapped in this blue state hell
That's what the Texas military is for. And that's what your weapons are for.
Yeah, of all the states to launch the lawsuit, the fact it was Texas has added gravitas because of what special history and rights Texas brings to the table.
Doesn't that do the same thing though? If they decide not to hear it they're saying Article 2 doesn't matter at all.
I wonder if Alan Dershowitz aided in this filing. I also wonder if he's the one needing special federal protection.
IIRC, Dershowitz once said that Ted Cruz was one of the smartest students he ever had.
The States are Countries and the US is dissolved.
