That's what I was going to say. Dude is a supreme court beast if you look at his track record. Didn't read the whole thing yet but they made it all but impossible to at least get a case in court. I'm sure he was already ready to at least consult on it as he had been preparing for the PA case most likely.

Thats the problem with most of the GOP. Carson and Paul are medical nerds who quote numbers and stats. Rubio looks like a pussy. Ted is a massive nerd. Then again the general oppostion in 2024 will be buttedge probably so any of those 5 will do.

yeah. he has no enthusiasm in those 4 states. total opposite of POTUS trump who is a northerner and conservatives in northern purple/red/blue states love him so much. northerners don't like southerners like how southerners don't like northerners (except trump incredibly appeals to everybody). nixon and reagan lucked out because they were from CA which was neutral ground back then so no northern or southern bias.

27
young_roshi 27 points ago +27 / -0

Same. Actions always speak louder than words. Reminds me of people saying Lin Wood is a fake wearing a MAGA hat. Well the man is doing WORK, I couldn't care less about appearances. We all know its the left that's swayed by that.

Maybe more people will follow Cruz’s lead once they see the overwhelming support he’s getting from the 75m people who voted for Trump.

2
PinkFlowers 2 points ago +2 / -0

6
jubale 6 points ago +6 / -0

No way is Cruz just a sneaky opportunist. Cruz was MAGA before MAGA, although he didn’t know about Trump at first. He was a leader of the Tea Party movement that protested big government and bailing out mega-corporations at the expense of tax payers. Opposed TPP. Always worked for common citizens against RINO Republicans. These are why he came second in the 2016 primaries.

-1
Redpillgirlfrommars -1 points ago +1 / -2

I've noticed Cruz has typically been vocal about/sided with MAGA on issues we have been vocal about. What I'm mostly referring to is in our darkest hour, E V E R Y O N E has parroted "no evidence of fraud! biden is president-elect!". I'm sure a lot of these people do believe this election was a farce, but they're probably in some kind of position where they cannot acknowledge it for whatever reason. No one with any recognition has had the balls to put their neck out on the line. I think Cruz likely is on our side, but i'm just saying i wouldn't be surprised if he thought "shit if I do something about this, this is probably gonna hand me a win if I run for X", because it's true. Trump's base is HUGE and anyone stepping into the lion's den to stand up for Trump is a patriot to us, and we'll return the favor if we can.

It's not a bad thing, I don't think he's slimy or disingenuous by any means. I think he just acknowledges this has multiple benefits, some even personal for him. Shit, i wish more people would take the hint and stand up in our defense, even if they're just being an opportunist. That'll help "legitimize" this to the people who think this claim has no backing and will likely bring more support.

I hate to say it, but at this point I’d be cool with a splintering I think. Cut the dead-weight blue states loose and let them drown themselves. I’d say wall them off, but if history is a guide they’ll take care of that themselves.

Consider readmittance to the union in a generation or two, after they’ve demonstrated they’ve got their shit back together, and only when they can pass the same test as a legal immigrant’ s citizenship exam.

That's an outsider's view of the states... It doesn't take into account the very real geographic boundaries of the country. Colorado, for example, is split in half politically and physically by The Rockies.

13
MaoHadOnly1Testicle 13 points ago +13 / -0

New Mexico joins the south. Idaho and Utah join Commiefornia. Tennessee joins the EU gang.

I'm not even American, and this map looks ridiculous to me.

11
BigIronBigIron 11 points ago +11 / -0

To REALLY redraw the map of the United States, you'd have to take into account foreign occupation and divvying up of territory, the re-routing of major waterways (Mississippi River goes this way now), and uninhabitable nuclear fallout zones.

7
becky21k1 7 points ago +7 / -0

That map is crap.

Pull up a map of blue vs red and that's how it splits up. I would expect individual counties to leave blue states for red.

5
Trudict 5 points ago +5 / -0

Canadian here, I've often wondered the same thing... even about my own country/province. I Live in Northwestern Ontario... I'd way rather be part of Manitoba and be like the 2nd biggest city, than be part of Ontario where they only care about Toronto. Much like most states don't want to live in a place where people only care about New York and California.

I think the only reason this even became a problem is that the Federal Government has become too large and overreaching. It seems to defeat the entire purpose of having a "United STATES of America" when who leads the federal government appears to be more important than who leads each state.

If people in California want healthcare... why doesn't California do it?

Hell, if the law regarding free travel amongst the states was removed, let them have their illegal immigrants too.

2
Rowski 2 points ago +2 / -0

First off, in my head I read the entire thing in my head in a stereotypical Canadian accent. Second, I think you’re correct in that states’ autonomy has been completely overruled. I’d like to see a much smaller federal government with states freer to control their own destiny. What works for New York City isn’t going to apply to Sioux Falls, SD.

3
Fallingshadow 3 points ago +3 / -0

They would fail badly without the prosperity of the red states, and would be begging to join together with them again.

Most of the country is focused on who gets elected President.

The Constitution guarantees each state EQUAL representation in the Senate (this is why each state has two Senators, from California all the way down to Wyoming).

Texas is suing the other states claiming they stole the election.

The Vice President casts a tiebreaking vote on every issue that gets stuck in the Senate by the way of a tie.

THEREFORE, Texas’ allegation is that the states that stole the election, VIOLATED Texas’ right to equal representation in the Senate, because even though the whole world is focused on who gets elected President, we also (obviously) elect a Vice President. And because the stolen election would make Kamala Harris the Vice President, the argument here is that the states violated Texas’ (and other states’) right to equal representation in the Senate by unlawfully and fraudulently electing the person who gets to break any ties which would eventually arise.

They’re forcing the Supreme Court to play ball by hopefully making them say, “you’re right, elections have consequences and each state has the right to rest assured that the person casting the tiebreaker vote in the Senate was rightfully elected to that position.”

Hopefully I did an alright job of explaining that.

So basically Trump wins either way.

If they rule in a constitutional way, Trump wins.

If they rule that the constitution is toilet paper, then that would equally mean we don't have to follow it to carry out the rest of the election in the manner it sets out.

9
Fabian 9 points ago +9 / -0

Second option would lead to Insurrection Act, I guess

4
Phins360_FL 4 points ago +5 / -1 (edited)

BINGO

If SCOTUS rules against, they are effectively telling us there is no law.

If there is no law, the President, being chief executive and top law enforcement must return to order.

Ergo insurrection act.

This was a brilliant strategic piece from Texas. Whoever wrote this is a strategic thinker and one well versed in Constitutional law.

Texas has a huge military. Besides the National Guard, Texas has its own Army and Navy and Marines independent of the NG. It is a force to be reckoned with.

If the Constitution becomes a museum piece, then Texas can

  • levy tariffs on blue States (fuck them)
  • control migration from blue States and abroad (fuck them all)
  • take over the Dallas Fed and print dollars as needed (fuck the Fed)
  • wage war against the Fraudulent Election States (fuck them)
  • etc

The SCOTUS has to understand all of this.

13

It gets scary when you think about. Sure woe vs wade is out, but so is the 1A and 2A, hell, even the 4th could be thrown out by various States and not a dam thing could be done about it. If I'm interpreting this whole case correctly, this is a fucking huge pandora's box.

What happens if SCOTUS sides with Texas? Will those electoral college votes be decided by the state legislatures? What do the legislatures in those states look like? If they're all Democrats or RINOs than it could still go to biden even with SCOTUS on our side.

Still, for an actual state to be sueing other states over the election is a MASSIVE escalation and a show that there is official opposition to the Democrats' bullshit.

So let's assume for a moment that China has been at war with us for at least 10 years.

During that time, they tried to put Beto in place of Cruz, where Cruz is a constitutional lawyer. They Failed that (because the vote machines did not make it into place in TX).

They now have an election where, whatever happens to 27 seats in the house, the house is still Demo and Nancy is still in charge.

The Senate happens to have a run-off in GA that could make it 50/50. GA has gone out of its way to be corrupt and as Linn has pointed out, the GA governor paid off a lot of debt just after winning his election. Now Kemp won't verify signatures and won't stop a certification of the election.

Meanwhile, once we would have 50/50 in the Senate (and still a majority Democrat in the House), the Vice President would break ties in the Senate.

Oh, and supposedly Biden gave up all our spies to be executed.

That is, after Chief Justice Roberts has been making the most twisted logic to give Dems what they want.

Hmm. It does tie together nicely and has a level of indirection that helps leave doubt.
