I think for certain cases, ie. especially federal elections they have to hear them or else a scenario like this may always be in the cards.. basically what happens if the judicial branch of a state or states is compromised and fraud like this happens and a state like Texas says WTF and sues the other states. Scotus should hear that case. It should be one of a handful of things in the original jurisdiction they must hear.
