In 2020 Mexico teaches liberty to the United States

🤡🌎

Gelus 92 points ago +94 / -2

Even worse because AMLO is a fucking commie.

In 30 years we’ve gone from supporting contras in the jungle to Latin American commies going, “Yo, y’all are too far left up there.”

What the actual fuck. We need to rid this country of regressivism.

21
plaaaa 21 points ago +21 / -0

They're dumping their citizens with issues on the USA.

23
SleepingDragon4444 23 points ago +23 / -0

Can’t really blame them. If we could dump all our blue hairs on Canada, we probably would.

Our leaders are traitors for accepting them.

5
GuruNemesis 5 points ago +5 / -0

Blue hair used to mean an old lady...

Maybe we should say neon hair? I mean, lots of green and other colors getting used by the progressive crowd anyway.

8
VA-Pede 8 points ago +8 / -0

Danger hair. It's a reference to aposematism and how bright colors in nature mean something is poisonous.

2

Yeah, exactly!

Canuck here. Please don't.

Logistically it'd be a bit harder, but I'd prefer they be dumped in China, or failing that, the open ocean at least 50mi from any landmass.

He is more like Hose Mujica than Hugo Chavez, bid difference. I was a bit concerned, but he left the PRD due to their ineffectiveness and corruption to form his own party. First thing he did is cut government salaries.

5

3

i've heard some wild stories

8
Kolob 8 points ago +8 / -0

Many ways more free, we spent a year down there with our kids so they could see what our country used to be like. Much of the corruption had been cleaned up at that time. This was before they ramped up the drug war and increased chaos. Like the US not everywhere is bad. Many parts of our country, Detroit, Baltimore, etc... are corrupt as well. AMLO has exceeded expectations, made some bad moves as well. Mixed bag, but seems to love his country

Don't believe the fake news msm. They have been trying hard for years pushing propaganda to make AMLO fight with Trump but so far it has been unsuccessful. AMLO might not be a conservative but he is a nationalist and in that aspect he has found common ground with Trump, he has not recognized Biden as president "out of political decency" and because Trump "has been very respectful with us" those are AMLO's own words. Even Ivanka congratulated AMLO recently for his 2 years as president of Mexico.

source: Mexican. Most AMLO supporters are supporting Trump right now and they are red pilling mexicans about the fraud on youtube, they have nicknamed biden Joe Frauden

6
You_Aint_Black 6 points ago +6 / -0

Almost everyone the media slanders and hates turns out to be a hero. That's my two cents.

4
ciemPepe 4 points ago +4 / -0

As a bonus, let me tell you that AMLO red pilled my mexican dad about the election fraud in the US. My dad consumes mexican mains stream media, so I called him on a saturday after the election and we had chat, naturally the elections topic came up and he was like "hehe Trump is an idiot and can't accept that he lost, the US has the most secure election system, cannot be rigged..." you know the arguments fed to the masses by the fake news. I told him "no dad, there was fraud it was pretty obvious on the swing states..." he interrupted me and just changed topic. I called him the next week (as usual, since i don't live with my parents anymore I try to call them every week), and he begins with "so there was fraud in the elections, they are trying to do to Trump what they did to AMLO..." I was shocked and asked him "why do you say that?" He said "AMLO said it on his morning conference, that he thinks there were some irregularities in the american elections like what we saw in 2006 and 2012 when they stole the election from AMLO..."

I was really happy about that, AMLO did the job for me lol

-3
booblitchutz -3 points ago +3 / -6

Amigo, Mexico is a failed narco state. Centuries of corruption have left it unable to self govern. If somehow the government at all levels were rid of the corruption, it would be one of the most wealthy nations on the planet. It’s well known that Mexico sits atop a massive amount of natural resources that can’t be properly managed by its corrupt government.

No offense, but the US should go in and eradicate the entire power structure of Mexico, hang all the cartel members and annex the nation. That’s the only way.

13
ciemPepe 13 points ago +13 / -0

You take care of you, we take care of us. AMLO has only been in power 2 years. He has already made great strides to fight corruption and cartels (not direct confrontation but going after their money, look at what Santiago Nieto is doing).

We know with Trump that draining the swamp takes time.

4
Kolob 4 points ago +4 / -0

I was nervous about AMLO, but have become a fan. I loved living in Mexico and consider it extremely underrated. Also most Americans are blind to our own corruption. Civil Asset Forfeiture is nothing more than theft and widely practiced. In my state cops pull over cars with out of state plates and confiscate their cash under the assumption that all cash comes from drug deals. It costs more to hire a lawyer to get it back than the cash was worth. We do have less petty crime here, I have never had to guard my groceries while unloading the car LOL. The first time I saw that I was shocked.

Since you are Mexican you will appreciate this. We went down with out whole family in a Suburban with leather seats. At the border they just stared at my husband in a car with 3 kids, a wife, our dog and everything we needed for a year trying to figure out who he was as we were at the El Paso crossing. Later inside Mexico when driving the Suburban, no one would meet his eyes and they were visibly afraid of him. When my husband was just out walking he would get heckled and treated very rudely (He is blond and looks American) Later we found out we were driving the preferred car of government officials and high level narcotraficantes. Never once did I see leather seats in a Suburban down there, we had them because they were easy to clean and we had small kids. This is not an unusual vehicle up here. I never had trouble as I was a mother and mothers get more respect down there. Coming back was hard as I get patronized and dismissed here for not working for money.

3
ciemPepe 3 points ago +3 / -0

lol yeah sorry mexicans tend to think that people driving big trucks or SUV's are narcos.

On the other hand, you are right. In mexico mothers are almost venerated like holy beings even if they do not work and just stay at home taking care of the kids. For the same reason, if you insult a mexican's mother be prepared to fight for your life.

3
Kolob 3 points ago +3 / -0

Funny story, I imagine you are familiar with the Cervantino festival in Guanajuato. We lived there before Americans took over and started turning it into an outpost like San Miguel de Allende and all the Americans who were there went native, learned Spanish, etc... Our toilet got plugged and I went into a hardware store in the middle of the festival. I look younger than I am so I could have been a tourist and they gave me stink eye. I described what I needed as I did not know the word in Spanish for toilet plunger. They asked how it happened and I told them I had no idea as I have kids and it could have been anything. Suddenly everything changed and they were super nice and friendly. I didn't blame them as I hated the Cervantino tourists too. The American tourists in Mexico were the worst, we don't send our best.

3
Kolob 3 points ago +3 / -0

I should add that I "just stay at home". I also homeschooled my kids, ran all our finances and did everything while my husband worked very long hours. Yard, houses, investments, everything else. There is a lot I do which is not visible. Right now I have returned to college for another degree, first was STEM, this one is in Spanish so I can stop sounding so bad when I speak Spanish.

-1
booblitchutz -1 points ago +1 / -2

You take care of you, we take care of us

Downvote me all you want (it means nothing) but the fact is Mexico is a failed narco state and the damage from this historical failure spills over our border every day.

How many "reformers" have come and gone in Mexico changing nothing?

11
ciemPepe 11 points ago +11 / -0

To all the pedes shitting on AMLO, I will give you my opinion and some facts about AMLO. For the record I support AMLO

Most AMLO supporters are supporting Trump right now and they are red pilling mexicans about the fraud on youtube, they have nicknamed biden Joe Frauden

Also Biden has repeatedly tried to contact AMLO and/or his advisors and AMLO has in all instances refused his calls because Trump is still the president. The fake news in mexico are crying about it.

3
Kolob 3 points ago +3 / -0

El Salvador also has a new based president who gets along with Trump. We need 4 more years. Trump wants to make Mexico and Central America Great so they won't need to flood the border.

It seems people in Mexico don't even know what socialism is. Socialists are often vehemently nationalist. AMLO is definitely a socialist, even Marxist, but in a country as corrupt and poor as Mexico, nationalism and men of principles are much more important than economic policy (just look at China for example).

4
ciemPepe 4 points ago +4 / -0

I didn't say he wasn't a socialist. Just saying that compared to your radical democrat party, AMLO is pretty based. AMLO is a nationalist and constitutionalist, he doesn't go against our constitution.

" AMLO is definitely a socialist, even Marxist" why do you say that? do you live in mexico?

5
Kolob 5 points ago +5 / -0

ciemPepe, people up here in the States believe everything they see in the MSM about Mexico and all of it is bad. My neighbor across the street is convinced it is beyond dangerous even though the Yucatan is safer than Utah. We get fed a steady diet of the worst of the worst, kind of like Covid coverage. If we reported on the US the same way, everyone would be terrified, and in fact many foreigners think the US is dangerous as well due to international reporting and our high gun ownership. People who don't live outside their country tend to be clueless

4
ciemPepe 4 points ago +4 / -0

Don't blame the americans though. If getting real news from Trump himself in the US is hard, I guess it's even more difficult to get real news about mexico. We are both bombarded with propaganda to make mexico an enemy of Trump.

3
Kolob 3 points ago +3 / -0

So true. When I was young I lived and worked in Switzerland and learned German. I learned quickly that normal people who did not speak English lived the USA, it was just the upper tier who despised us. My friends were always shocked when they visited the US and everyone was very nice to them. Normal people everywhere are usually good, it is the people moving pawns around who are the problem. I was in Costa Rica last year and our uber driver asked us what we thought of Trump. As soon as he knew we voted for him he started ranting about how much he loved Trump. Countries are very different when you speak the language and talk to normal people. Just a small disclaimer, my Spanish is pretty janky and I sound like I just fell off the turnip truck, but I can communicate.

-2
qwertyuiop123 -2 points ago +1 / -3

I don't see what living in Mexico has to do with it. He used to talk a lot of Marxist rhetoric before the last election cycle where he learned to tone it down.

You might have a point though that the Democrat party is way further left than him, which is a scary thought.

6
ciemPepe 6 points ago +6 / -0

If you lived in Mexico you would realize we are far from being Venezuela. We have been abused by corporations for decades. We had become almost slaves to corporations because president Felipe Calderon passed a law that essentially allowed companies to hire people with temporary contracts without the usual benefits of a job (medical insurance, commissions, etc.) and the pay was utter shit so you couldn't pay for those benefits yourself either. Corporations would use that to hire people for about 6 months and then fire them to avoid giving them a permanent contract with better salary and full benefits. Then around christmas time all those employees would be fired, the company can terminate them without any reason and without paying anything to them. Then they would contact those employees next year and offer them a temporary contract again, rinse and repeat and you have slaves working for you for pennies while you can violate every right they should have.

AMLO ended that just last month so thank you for your opinion but I think AMLO is doing so much good for Mexico.

-2
qwertyuiop123 -2 points ago +1 / -3

Did you even read my comment? Lol.

On the other hand, your comment about Calderon is bullshit. I have family in Mexico, and over the 10 years of Calderon I have seen first hand the income and quality of life of everyone in the country skyrocketed by such an incredible amount it was unbelievable. I can only think you are really young, or things are very, very different farther from the border.
