I’d like to introduce you to Dr James White’s book “The King James Only Controversy”. Our standard should be the manuscripts not a 17th Century translation (of which they did very well with what they had).
You are correct however. There is non of the crap the Swedes are pushing in it.
Plus Jesus said His Word won't pass away. King James Only'ist don't believe that.
A translation example.
The woman inhabited by the demon of fortune-telling proclaims of the Disciples:
KJV: "These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation"
Manuscripts Say: "... a way of salvation."
Not "the" way.
Now this is Typical of a Demon, Jesus is a way of Salvation, but the only way. The Demon is still trying to be ambiguous whilst not capable of lying bout the Disciples.
The KJV translators were not lying when they translated it this way, they were just trying to be clearer for the reader... but they did change it.
Not only that the translators themselves said in the preface of the KJV that as language changes so would the need for a newer updated translation. you don't believe that either.
In fact the KJV only exists because of this very same issue, I believe with Wycliff Bible.
"Jesus said His Word won't pass away. King James Only'ist don't believe that."
Haha, we say there is His words perfectly preserved, everyone else says choose whatever you want from the corrupted manuscripts.
There is 1 way of salvation, not many.
“Jesus saith unto him, I am THE way, THE truth, and THE life: no man cometh unto the Father, BUT BY ME.”
The KJV translator sis not think like you, to dear to change things to be 'clearer' for an unsaved or noob reader.
Don't care what the "translators to the reader" says, the translation is perfect not the translator.
"There is 1 way of salvation, not many. “Jesus saith unto him, I am THE way, THE truth, and THE life: no man cometh unto the Father, BUT BY ME.”"
I wasn't contesting this I was merely pointing out that in the manuscripts the demon possessed lady says "a way" not "the way" as the KJV translates it.
"The KJV translator sis not think like you, to dear to change things to be 'clearer' for an unsaved or noob reader."
No manuscript says the demon possess lady says the way, so yes the KJV translators changed it. For clarity, not lying either, but change it they did.
"Don't care what the "translators to the reader" says, the translation is perfect not the translator."
You missed the point, they categorically stated that as language changes so would the need for an updated translation.
Which manuscript anyway, some alexandrian trashcan manuscript or the TR? Irrelevant actually, throw it out, there is no perfectly preserved ancient Bible.
No they didn't change it, hodon in context adds the "the", maybe don;t learn Greek from pagan-based dictionaries.
Again even if they said it, they were 1 wrong 2 if you can't read the KJV because of a few dozen words then, learn those words.
Yes I can disagree with the KJV translators outside Scriptures, so what?
And to answer yours standard anti-KJV question - you could have googled the answer to if Absolute Truth really interested you instead of praising relative human intellect - here's the simple answer from Dr Gipp: http://samgipp.com/13-where-was-the-bible-before-1611/
Well here's reality: The perfectly preserved Bible in the King James Bible, AUTHORIZED Version IS Absolute Truth and it IS available. I don't have to make up MY own version in MY own head making MY own intellect the final authority posing as MY own god saying what "absolute" truth is, because there is nothing absolute about human opinion and preference.
People are looking for the truth their entire life and when someone presents it to them they say "I PREFER another VERSION" of it. There is NO other version of ABSOLUTE TRUTH! Then it is not absolute it's relative truth, which is just a taste.
2+2=4 or "rape is evil" is not up to personal preferences. If God can't lie, there is a perfect Bible out there, the Absolute Truth.

I think I'll stick with either Douay-Rheims or KJV (they both have their merits -- I tend to prefer the content of DR when it includes the Apocrypha and the poetry of the language in KJV). If I want to get really hardcore, I'll read the Latin Vulgate (though it is more difficult than it used to be for me; I really do need to force myself). None of which, by true scholars, was ever promoted as more than a good translation...or at least better than others...into the corresponding languages -- even Jerome's LV was correctly identified as such, and he was a lot closer to the source.
This blasphemous sounding Swedish bullshit appears to be just that -- blasphemous bullshit: I would like to see their sources, and I would like to know their methods of translation. PS. Church of Sweden -- you forgot Aramaic in your quest to sound authentic. While that theory is contested, at this point I think you would have to consider them nonetheless -- the language was common during the time of Christ in that location. You are after all making the claim of greater authenticity here.
They pervert & twist everything to justify & gain acceptance of their deviant behaviors.... a perversion of truth is nothing more than a lie, wrapped in a pretty package....
Even the "authorized" version of the Bible is off. They're select chapters the church has allowed in it's book. There are chapters hidden from the public that the public aren't allowed to read closed behind lock and key.
I see. That is the name of it. "Authorized Version" and it wasn't James who authorized it or the church of England. It is also not off. It is perfect, God authorized it and that Book resulted in the best nation on the planet.
Allah also said his word is perfect too. It too was divinely authorized. You can literally claim any word is perfect according to their supposed god. And that any book you deem is "divinely authorized".

I prefer the ESV.
I'd like to introduce you to the concept of Absolute Truth

So what did people use before the KJV and why was the KJV needed if all we need to do is learn some words?
Which Wycliff Bible version do you believe actually? Do you actually read that with middle English? Question is that Wycliff Bible perfect?
So you disagree with the KJV translators... got it.

The ccp is behind all of this
To all who may read this, here is a full discussion on the position I take with this in respect to KJV Onlyism.

There are people here both for and against it.
Listen and Judge for yourselves all who are interested. It is the John Ankerberg Show from the 80's and features lots of experts on this subject.
There is no need to fear, God is in control and His Word is forever.

So your god failed.
Your ability at guessing people's beliefs failed.
Your ability at guessing what I have said failed.
Nope. King James Bible is the "authorized version". Throw out the Rest.
You're saying KJV is authorized. I'm saying be careful what you call authorized.
I see. That is the name of it. "Authorized Version" and it wasn't James who authorized it or the church of England. It is also not off. It is perfect, God authorized it and that Book resulted in the best nation on the planet.

Yes, and one actually is.
