I don't usually differentiate the country/government from the people. China's regular citizens may be abused but they are brainwashed and will defend their captors. Just like NORK. In NORK there is no one left who remembers a time without the Kims in power. Everyone alive has been brought up in the dictatorship and taught that it's the best thing in the world to be where they are. They will fight to defend it even if a few know deep down where they live is bad and might benefit from leaving if they could. Once a population has been taken over to that extent it cannot be saved
