As much as I hate what Google is doing, no one is forcing us to use their services. We still have free market capitalism and if this happens enough, a viable competitor will fill the vacuum for content that YouTube won't allow. This is why I'm not interested in the government regulating big tech. Can you imagine if the government had to force Reddit to allow The_Donald to remain as a subreddit? We're in a much better position today BECAUSE of the unreasonable censorship at Reddit due to free market competition. Users will flock to bitchute or vimeo or whatever else is out there.
I get where you are coming from, but these big tech companies are too powerful at this point that free market capitalism is an illusion. Can you realistically say a corporation will come along that will oust Google and the services they control like Youtube?
I know it seems impossible for the free market to fix this, but it happens. Think of the dominance of AOL in 1999, or Blackberry in 2006, or MySpace in 2008. The dynamics of companies we thought were dominant frequently change. How about Apple? They were almost dead and bankrupt, and had a major comeback by bringing Jobs back on.
What about Microsoft? They went from like 99% of the market share for PCs and now they're around 75%. YouTube may seem too big to be taken down, but when companies do this kind of stuff or rest on their laurels and just rake in money from the cash cow they've built without innovating and simultaneously pissing off their users, that's the perfect scenario for a competitor to jump in and take market share.
