I agree with OP, however consider this. All of you use Chrome, most of you use Google search, a lot of you likely have Gmail accounts, some of you use Hangouts for texting/voice. Just realize how far you've been infiltrated before deciding that cutting out YouTube will "fix the problem".

I have no problem going back to the pre device era.

I grew up in that era and life was a hell of a lot better than it is today! NO Brainwashing was possible!
