The hospital social media policies vary from facility to facility, but I will say they increasingly get more strict by the year. That was my observation from working in two different hospitals over a 5 year period. A nurse I am acquainted with recently got reprimanded for a similar post. Disclosed the diagnosis, ethnicity, and age of the patient. Instead of taking responsibility and deleting the post, her next post was complaining that there is a “rat” on her friend list and that she will “find out exactly who it is!”
