I’ve wondered the same thing. As long as there are no specific identifying factors for the patient in reference, they’re pretty much free to post whatever the hell they want. The hospital social media policies vary from facility to facility, but I will say they increasingly get more strict by the year. That was my observation from working in two different hospitals over a 5 year period. A nurse I am acquainted with recently got reprimanded for a similar post. Disclosed the diagnosis, ethnicity, and age of the patient. Instead of taking responsibility and deleting the post, her next post was complaining that there is a “rat” on her friend list and that she will “find out exactly who it is!”
