This has been driving my husband and I FUCKING BONKERS. We used to be leftists and we DO NOT GET how the lefties we still know are now all shopping at fucking Amazon.

Because their not lefties, they are either authoritarians or they are people who are incapable of forming their own opinions and just do as they are told. Probably a bit of both.

Products of demoralization. Please, watch this 7 minute video. He explains perfectly what happened / is happening to our country.

They never had principles. It was all about a society without consequences for their deviance, and they'll ally with whoever helps them get there.

I really think the everyday lefty is a good person who has been absolutely brainwashed. Of course, there are some very very bad leftists too, who do very very bad things. But the everyday lefty (people like my Mom and my sister) genuinely believe they are doing the right thing.

Yeah, but to them the 'right thing' is ALWAYS maximizing 'choice'. People should be able to do whatever they dream, be whatever they dream, and so on. Really, this should sound familiar: It's the jingoist version of America sold to most of us in school.

They're taking this belief to its logical conclusion: Complete separation from reality. They're only interested in possibilities, and they think any consequences can be mitigated by human ingenuity.

I think you are onto something there for sure. There really is a tendency for leftists to go on really intense flights of fancy (men can become women, etc). Leftists aren't beyond redemption though. They are just mad brainwashed.

Some, maybe. But freedom from consequence, everything you can't do is someone else's fault, is one hell of a drug, especially when they see 'evidence' they are right through all the gibs the Govt already gives out.

It's hard to convince someone they're wrong in the first place. Convincing them they're wrong, and that life is actually hard and takes serious mental effort and commitment is almost impossible for most of them.

They think small business owners are all Trump supporters for some reason, so they are happy to see them go under. I saw some actually saying this on Twitter.

Yikes.

You should see how the media influenced both the Tea Party and Occupy Wall Street in 2008 from both being against trillions of taxpayer dollars going to billionaires, to being about various social issues.

They don't actually stand for or believe anything besides what they're told to stand for or believe. I saw a roommate do a 180 on abortion in a week because one week it wasn't a topic and the following week Bill Maher had gone all-out against babies.

Ugh, sadly I've seen my in-laws do the same thing.

Leftists back then: give me power

Leftists now: give me power

I see it more as.

Establishment politicians & deep state then: give me power.

Establishment politicians & deep state now: give me power.

Leftists don't care about logical consistency, in fact they couldn't care less. They only care about being able to weaponize whatever they can in order to silence any dissidents.

The sooner we can get everyone to realize this the sooner we can justify punching leftists in the fucking mouth.

"Leftists don't care about logical consistency, in fact they couldn't care less."

Very true, and in fact, they don't even need consistency, given their media power...it never happened, just like the Atlanta vote counting never stopped on election night.

When we try that, we get called out, every time, as we should (by the way).

I see the response to the ongoing plandemic more in terms of libertarians vs. authoritarians. Of course yesterday's culture wars are still being fought but the key issue seems to be whether government has the authority to control so many facets of your day-to-day living or not.

Yep. Some liberal I talked to yesterday was praising Amazon for their delivery service during the pandemic. I just said all their shit is made in China and she needs to shop local mom and pop stores.

This is why I hated transitions of tangible media, to all digital and streaming shit, you never own the media and are only allowed to access it, when they allow you to. Pretty soon, there will only be a small handful of places to shop. There won't be any variety or competition, then they will be able to control entirely what you are allowed to purchase and how you participate in their shopping "experience." And they have already got a taste of the commie power. By forcing you to wear masks, and doing shit like not accepting cash. Coming up, they will likely require proof of vaccination so you can just participate in shopping, and there won't be any other options. People are being treated like cattle and it's only going to get worse if it's allowed to continue to happen. We the people should be in control of our economies, not by some authoritarian dictator. Some places of business are already destroyed and lost forever at this point, but some of it can be salvaged if we go out and support them in droves, like we show up for rallys.

I didn't think these people could pivot that full 180ΒΊ as fast as they did.

Proved me wrong.

Walk the aisles of a Walmart and try to find anything not made by slaves in China.

This is why.

It's kind of like how back in 2008, Tea Party went from "We don't want taxpayer dollars going from my wallet to billionaires, to protesting gay marriage." And funny enough Occupy Wall Street went from "We don't want taxpayer dollars going to billionaires" to the beginnings of "Black-trans lives matter"

The establishment wants it all.
